Huskies Loss is Montana's Gain

Zach Vis, who at 6'3 and 196 pounds, hits like a mack truck, is soft-spoken and God-fearing, took his official visit to the UW this past weekend and came away impressed with the facilities and program. What he did not come away with was an offer. Although the two parties did the "dance"...it was felt that his heart was in Missoula all along.
The three-sport star who set a state title game record with 274 receiving yards in Lynden's 41-7 wn over Tumwater (and UW recruit Jamie Bryant), is more of a "small-town" guy. His NFL town would be Green Bay, if you get my meaning.
There is no conceivable way that the Montana staff knows what they have just had land in their laps.Put some more weight on that frame (look for Zach to arrive at about 210) and you would have a TE. Imagine him at 220 and free safety comes to mind. (Somewhere you need tofind video of acouple hits he laid on opponents in the past two state title wins by Lynden in the Tacoma Dome.
Heck, he could even get up to 235-240 and put a real whupping on opponents from the LB position.
This kid IS that good. The UW was late to the party and even Oregon contacted him.
But Zach is where he wants to be...in Missoula...calling himself a Grizzlie.

Not sure if this has been posted earlier:

GRIZZLY :thumb:

Sounds like a great get!! :clap:

has there ever been a football player from the northwest that should've been picked up by one of the pac-12 schools and when he wasn't was going to be a steal and a stud at the f.c.s. level? there's a website called northwest-something-something.com and i swear every single guy on there is "flying under the radar" or "isn't getting the looks he deserves" from the big schools.

while not perfect at least scout, rivals, espn point out the weaknesses.

What's their word on Vis? If you don't mind sharing?

something tells me the poster starting the thread did just that, but if not, here's what northwest prep report said about two months ago. i'm not saying vis, he does sound good, isn't u.m. material but it just seems like everyone they talk about is the second coming.

and here's one from northwest elite index. http://www.northwesteliteindex.com/2012/08/29/14867/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

YES, SCOUT AND RIVALS ARE THE BE-ALL-END-ALL OF RECRUITING :lol: . and getgrizzy, i'm just curious what the point of knowing the "weaknesses" of a preferred walkon, or any recruit who has yet to even arrive on campus? why care? why pick before they are even a real Griz yet? just curious...

Wow, just watch his video and this kid is a steal. Runs good route, showed good speed, excellent at jump ball and broke tackles for extra yards almost everytime. I was most impressed with his change of speed on one play to allow ball to arrive perfectly without looking like he slowed down. He made the QB look better than he is. And that is just on the O side of the ball. His D was just as impressive. I predict big things out of this kid. He will be on schollie soon.
