HUSKIES ARE ANGRY

Speth is correct. I have no great love for Lake or the Dawgs, but they have been complimentary of the GRIZ, as are the local print media.

I’ve had a number of Husky fans tell me the better team won.

Saying they were disappointed in the effort and calling it their worse loss ever is not the same. Hell, go back and read this board after our loss to DII NDSU. I promise you’d see the exact same comments.

Where'd you see positive comments about UM in any local media? All I've heard is how this is an "historically bad loss" for UW and blame on them. I'd love to see someone who isn't wearing purple-colored glasses say something else. Got any links to share? Thanks!

Here's a few quotes from Larry Stone this week:

"Mind you, this wasn’t one of those fluky upset wins that comes by virtue of a trick play or a bad call by the refs. Montana was the better team in every aspect".

"...a butt-whipping of the 20th-ranked Huskies by an FCS school that deserves every one of the accolades that are now going to flood its way".

"This Husky team was out-played, out-coached, out-toughed and then out-celebrated by a Griz team that headed back to Missoula on a cloud of euphoria".

Thanks, man, I'll look up his stuff the past week.

The OP didn’t say the coach was making excuses. He said fans are using coaches/coaching as an excuse.

Yeah, and in every article they say they were missing their top 4 receivers.

No mention of the Griz missing their top 2 RBs. Weird.

A sports commentator here yesterday described the Pac-12 as "the gateway to the Big Sky."

Devastating loss not only for Washington but for a conference struggling to achieve parity with the The Big Ten and especially the SEC.

I too have read a handful of other positive comments on our Grizzlies. Cam got some praise for being elusive. Our O line some for pushing their defender's around. Plus the difficulties they had with the speed of our defense was mentioned more than once. Yes, the Huskies are angry but the writers and commentators did toss out some props to our guys.

It is understandable the focus is on their team's failures rather than on Montana's positives. They were expecting to win, and all things considered normally they should have. So vast bulk of their discussion is on what they should have, could have, would have done to have won the game and/or get back on track against Michigan. That is where our heads would be too if we dropped a game to Central Washington.

I was at the game and multiple Husky fans congratulated us for the team's performance. There was only the one guy who said "I hope the bobcats beat you". I didn't take it too personal. That kind of bitterness requires years of professional help.

Yeah, and as was pointed out to me, the Griz' best receiver plays for Nebraska!

Their "Top 4" are all Freshmen or Sophomores. I will follow their careers and see how good they really turn out for future ammo against the beat writers if they have the balls to schedule the Griz again..

Not that I really care, but this is inaccurate. A number of articles here referenced the GRIZ being without their number one back, and even stated he's an All-American, which is generally unthinkable for media of FBS programs regarding FCS players.
