Huse and assistants

Great thread and posts. Informative and civil. Wow the Basketball forum is a model for the football forum (at least this thread).

Would it be fair to say that Huse is a bit more like Larry K. in his style :?:

Maybe in style, but certainly not in results. I don't think any of Huse's players fear him, they just don't like him. Krysko scares the shit out of his guys, the officials, and anyone else that looks at him. :thumb:

I feared him from my seat in the Adams center. Where is he these days, is he back in the NBA as an assistant somewhere, lost track after he left the Bucks?

Larry's at U of Utah, Head Coach, where he has his hands full!

Tinks is in a position to be one of UM's greatest coaches (on the Men's side anyways) because he is willing to hire the right guys to assist him. There is absolutely no ego whatsoever with Wayne, he understands that Coaching is akin to running a business in that as a Manager, President, CEO of a company, you are only as good as the pieces you put around you, in terms of coaches and players. He takes pride in selecting the right replacements for his staff, as well as departing players, making sure they buy into the team, as well as his coaching philosophy. You would be amazed at how many coaches wanted to replace Evans. Guys from all over were begging Wayne to hire them. He cautiously approached his selection based on the right fit, and not the big name.

Wayne has figured things out in short manner. Ceiling is high for him.

Personally, I think Brad is a good guy, but he can be a hard ass. I can see how it would get old when your team is not winning.

Kind of ironic, when Huse got the MSU job, and Tinkle became the GRIZ coach, how many people were thinking Huse was the better coach. I remember so many negative comments about Wayne Tinkle.

The biggest difference in Tinkle and Huse, Wayne has been willing to learn, and adjust as a coach. Huse has been a little too stubborn in that regard. Wayne Tinkle has become a very respected coach, and has built a great reputation. Wayne will be a hot commodity, when his contract is up. I am sure he will be the GRIZ coach until Tres graduates HS. He will have some very good job offers. I hope he gets to have a lot of say in his replacement. Better yet, I hope he will be another Robin Selvig.

I will admit I was one of those guys. I don't think I was too negative against Tinks, but I did think Huse would be a really successful coach. I guess that is why I am not an AD.
