Our former third string QB is doing well at CARROLL?

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has released the second edition of the Netting Professionals NAIA Football Top-25 Coaches' Poll. Carroll College has climbed seven spots to No. 18 entering the final week of non-conference play.

Following a dominant 35-7 win over Dickinson State on Saturday, the Fighting Saints (2-1) made a big splash in the national poll. Carroll vaulted into the Top-20 for the first time this season, making the biggest jump of any team in the nation, up seven spots to No. 18.

Through 3 games, Huot has rushed for 236 yards (losing 73) for a net average of 54/game. He's also thrown for 627 yards and 6 TDs, to 3 INTs. He's completing 66.28% of his passes with a 143.57 passer rating. All told, Huot averages about 263 yards/game.
What do these stats indicate? I'm not sure how talented Carroll is overall, but Huot seems to be having a good season.

Huot had his best game by far against Dickenson State. He's got a good corps of receivers and a strong arm----so if he continues to play like he did last week Carroll will be a major force in the Frontier Conference. At Dickenson Huot had two passing trouchdowns------ and one receiving !

"On the road, and in the rain, the No. 14-ranked Carroll Football team picked up a monumental win over No. 8 Montana Western.
Huot, the 6-3 junior transfer from the University of Montana, was phenomenal in a hostile environment and challenging conditions - completing 22 of his 36 attempts for 349 yards and five touchdowns through the air, while leading all players with 50 rushing yards and one more score on the ground to help Carroll come away with its first win in Dillon since 2015.
While Huot's big passing day is worth the praise, a fearless run on fourth down with less than a minute remaining in which he sacrificed his body - hurdling a Bulldog defender and stretching for the sticks - was arguably the most important play of the game."

I watched the Carroll spring game and thought he played the best, but the kid that had been the backup got more playing time. Pleased to see he earned the starter job.
