If you are gonna try and quote me, get it right, I have never said that MSU is deserving of the #2 ranking, and my comment about facing "the best front 7 we will see" was during the "regular season" not "all season", (there is a difference) and it was in the context of the progression of our young OL not in "defending" any ranking.

I think you need some basic reading comprehension classes :thumb:

as for this year i have a few thoughts. i like our team this year. we had nearly every player on the roster stick around this summer and i love that. i appreciate the #2 ranking but it's not like there was an auction and crazy cat fans put up the most money to get that spot. it's a ranking. it's fun but pointless. you don't have to remind me when we were #1 and got smashed by 3 td's at home. however, i would love to keep our ranking around #2 for the purpose of playoff seeding and i think that is reasonable. as to whether we're the 2nd best team in the country.....i have no idea. we certainly haven't played like it but you don't get a trophy for being 2nd. especially being 2nd in september. that said, if all the pieces fall in place and make the championship or even win the damn thing....i guess we can look back on september 20th and say we were at least the 2nd best team. it means nothing.

i think many fans look at things the same way i do. but there are always going to be those that don't. i have no doubt some cat fans are giddy right now and think we're the best thing since sliced bread. i don't speak for them. just because a guy lives in bozeman or likes the cats doesn't mean we're the same. if we were, you'd never see bar fights and every person in missoula would love eachother because you're all griz. don't think you have to look any farther than this board to see that ALL griz fans certainly aren't the same. :lol:

i think some of the things i've read about the cats are both true and false. our line is our weakest link no doubt. but to say they can't improve as the season goes on is silly. they alreasy look much better than against chadron. and while they are smaller than the griz line that is huge, they stack up pretty good with most o-lines in the conference. but i think most cat fans are aware that our last two playoff exits were do in large part to very poor line play on both sides of the ball.

i also disagree with the idea that mcghee has been running for his life. he's an athletic qb and if his reads aren't there he'll use his feet. but i think some are mistaking his scrambling for running for his life which i don't think is fair. clearly our line can always give him more time, but i don't think they are hurting us in this regard as much as some people have claimed.

bottom line is we haven't even started league play yet. we have no idea what our teams are going to look like in 2 months. but no doubt they will be filled with back and forth jibberish about who lost by more, which fans were loudest, who's team is faking injuries, and how much better "my" team is than "your" team. :roll:

You are right of course, but home field hasn't helped either team in the past two years.
