Interesting and I agree he is not talking smack. Unfortunately, I believe Cat fans have become delusional and everyone keeps saying they are ready to take the next step. Tired of hearing this same line - over and over again. I have noticed a common theme over the years with the Brawl of The Wild. The Griz lose frequently after a coaching change. I believe that makes sense and if anything bodes well for the Cats - it would be we have another coaching change. Having said that, Mick and the other coaches will use the week before to scheme and prepare. Don't forget about home field and crowd advantage. One factor that is not predictable is injuries. Way to early in the season to make predictions about the Brawl. Will either team have a healthy o-line, d-line, QB, secondary, etc. I prefer to take this season one game at a time. November will be here soon enough.

Additionally, over the past 10 years MSU football has become more than just beating the griz. Sure we'd love to win that game every year, however, players/coaches/fans have ambitions beyond that. This mentality hasn't always been the case.

Their problems are not an easy fix. The offensive line is just young and not very good. Teaching technique and form will only get you so far, you can't teach a kid to be bigger, stronger, and older. They can't protect the quarterback or run the ball between the tackles from what I have seen. Denarius Mcghee is the only thing keeping this team going right now. I watched him take 5-6 bad hits last week you can't just keep taking that type of punishment over the course of season and not get banged up. Not clue how healthy he will be after running for his life for an entire season. The cats don't have that long ball threat they had with Akpla like last season and they are having to keep the tight ends and backs in to block because the line is just not getting it done. Couple that with poor special teams (i.e. field goals) and no run game and you are going to struggle putting points up on the board against a good team in the red zone. Like I said, Denarius Mcghee is going to keep this team afloat but to say that THIS team is good enough to win a National Championship or beat Montana on the road is a stretch. Some problems you just can't fix maybe they should have gone after some J.C. lineman in the offseason too late now.

WOW, all I can say is that your delusion is pretty deep.
OL experience: every game snap they gain, CSU, & Drake really mixed the looks up to confuse them, they adjusted and came through by now they have seen almost every goofy defensive formation anyone can throw at them. SFA is one of the top pass rush teams in the FCS (sack leaders in 2011) and the young pups only allowed 3 sacks, #5 is a true NFL player. We have JC transfers (300 pounders), they are backups and will probably redshirt

McGhee health: been hearing this from you for 3 years now, he just keeps getting bigger stronger and better, he takes a few hits but is very good and makinging them glancing blows.

Special teams: we are 100% in FG's, (hint: you dont kick many when you score TD's when in the redzone) Other than the punt which hit another player and the returner tried to save it I dont really see a problem, in fact they are better this year in coverage and Johnson will take a couple back this year.

#2 and NC hopes: every team has hopes at this time of year, but there is a lot of football yet to be played and still a lot of unknowns, the team you see in November will not be the same as it is now and vise-versa. We all need to let this season play out and enjoy the ride :thumb:

Ok, as much as we all hate to say it, a lot of fans are looking to downgrade the Cats because our reputation has gotten a bit roughed up. Our fan base seems to have a problem with the attention MSU is getting and is looking like a two year old throwing a tatrum because our sibling is getting more attention.

Why can't a fan, on their own site, make an observation without facing attacks? You don't have to agree with it, you don't have to be swayed by it and you don't have to respond.

I have watched one game of the Cats and all three Griz games. Saying who is going to win Cat/Griz at this point is moot to me. I don't know their team well enough and there is a lot of season between now and the Brawl.

My take on all of this is I do read the kitty board because I attempt to gain some insight into what they have going on. It doesn't mean I like them or even envy them. I don't sit around an brood about them hoping that they do poorly because I'm to busy hoping the Griz will do well. I'm not sure why so many of our fans have a tough time accepting the fact that the Cats have moved their program in the right direction. It just like with my yard. The prior owner next door didn't really keep the yard nice. A new owner comes along and puts in a sprinkler system and works on the place. Now I will have to say his lawn looks better then mine. I can sit around an complain about it or I can appreciate the efforts, acknowledge that it makes the whole neighborhood look better and work to make mine a bit nicer if I want. I'm not going to wish for a break in his sprinklers, bug infestation etc so that his lawn will look bad again just so mine can look like the best lawn on the block.

The fact is, our Griz have some tools to be very good, but we have some weak spots. The Cats too have the tools to be very good and they have some weak spots. My personal belief is our weak spots are more correctable as the season moves along then theirs, but I have a jaded view. I'll let the season play out and watch some more football before I go on the record on how badly the Griz will win. Yes, I said they will win, because I do believe that the Griz have the ability to beat every team they play this year, and I expect them to win.

Like it or not, Cat fans can be happy and as Griz fans we should just look becoming happy with our team and keep supporting our University. Go Griz!

#38 db and the MLB were damn good too on D, the OLB's had more speed than we typically see in the BSC

SFA has pretty much scheduled themselves out of the playoffs, 2 FBS games, 1 DII, and the Cats, means they would need to run the table in the Southland, with SHSU being what they are that is unlikely, but that is the only SLC game that I would pick against them, However they have a slim shot at knocking off TX St. and that could get them back into playing for the post season.

Well, just my opinion if you will, I don't think this year's Brawl will be a blowout as it was last year, I'm expecting it to be worst, after all it's "TRADITION" I just hope that the Cats, can perform well enough for the Griz to sustain a good practice for preparation for the playoffs.

Are you sure it's not Chadron that had the toughest front 7 the cats will see this year? Chadron held the cats to fewer yards than SFA did.

SMU throttled SFA 52-0. Your argument that MSU was better offensively against SFA than SMU was in a situation like this really doesn't carry much weight.
