So happy Turner is going to be a Griz.

and Sulser....

By far the best two in the state.

I would not say by far the two best. No doubt Sulser is the best. However, #2 spot in the state is closer with the play of Askelson between him and Turner. Askelson has been very very impressive this year with playing both ways. He’s an athlete that is going to be a wrecking ball linebacker for the cats.

Just disagree. Don’t know if his skills will transfer to college play. Does he really have the size to play LB in college?

He is the top of the second level. But there is a gap between Sulser, Turner and that group.

But it’s just my opinion, I’ve been wrong before

askelson is 6'2" 210 pounds now,,,pretty fast, tough, heady, linebacker that leads senior in tackles on defense and plays qb on offense on the number one team in the state.....yes, he will be a wrecking ball for state ag imo.....im griz supporter through and through, but this kid is special imo....the cats got a very, very good one.

I agree, my thoughts are that they are the top two also.

That’s what I’m saying. He really took a step up this year and would not be surprised if he’s the Gatorade player of the year instead of Sulser. With that being said no doubt the Griz have killed in state this year. And we can always hope for a Brekke like flip.

Here are Askelson's stats through the first 9 games of the season (haven't found stats from Senior/West).

Passing: 1,779 yards 22 TDs 3 INTs
Rushing: 595 yards 8 TDS
Defensive: 87 tackles

No doubt Turner and others have accumulated monster stats this year, but Askelson has been impressive as the Quarterback for the state's top team. A second team all state running back last year, he could be an all-state selection in his first year as starting quarterback.
