How would you rate this class?

DISAPPOINTING: C-/D+

- Not enough attention to buidling OL depth through recruiting
- LB seem to be a solid place for us to include more nasty slobber knocking talent, too
- I dont see enough two way athletic talent & speed in this class to get excited about
- EWU seems to be out recruiting us by a long shot & that is NOT acceptable

I love my in state recruits as much as anyone else but they have "make the cut" I would like to know how many of the in state guys were getting attention from program other than MSU/UM???

This was a class that was recurited by a lame duck coach. Dont be fooled...this is Micks last year. Hate to say it but our current head coach is not strong in this area & he doesnt inspire the young athletes of today in a way that makes them want to play for him!

Some of you all aint going to like that last portion of this post...but you all can kick rocks if you cant take of the rose colored glasses. Hell Im 58yrs old and can recognize that college sports is an ever changing beast. We need to adapt right along with it.

Or accept our continued slide out of the top tier of the best FSC conference in America.

I give this class a C-/D+. Here are my issues.

1) With the plethora of scholarships available this year, I am surprised this is all they could come up with.
2) Where is the beef?
3) Should be more Montana kids
4) Too many kids not from Montana
5) No 3-star recruits
6) Don’t see a single recruit equal to NDSU’s class.

Shame. The free-fall continues.

Damn it Raider! I told you to start using those smilies and emoticons or people are just not going to get your sarcasm. This is my last warning mister.

I know sarcasm overload on my part. Thanks for picking up on it in the other thread and defusing the slower crowd.

I do find it funny how the e-griz tone related to this recruiting class has changed in the last couple of days. A week ago the sky was falling.

Anyone not impressed with the job this staff has done this year, considering the limitations, has their head up their arse.

Great post.

I'd give it an "F" so we are Nat'l Champs in 2 years.

Nice try AWF, but your sarcasm is well known. Raider is now, also, a known practitioner of the timeless art of sarcasm. My blank response to his posts, as with yours, is a smirk. An emoticon, btw, that this site desperately needs...

We will see how this class does. I personally think it comes down to the coaches and what they do with the 20+ receivers. The one thing that has made NDSU so good the last few years is playing with the mentality that you don't need a star flying around the field to make the plays. Everybody does their job and it works. UM should be pretty good if they can get the team to do that and TACKLE instead of looking for the highlight reel hit.

I'm as excited about this class as I was about SSH starting the Griz/Cat game two years ago. Disappointing getting out recruited by EWU and the Cats. We are MONTANA is this the best we can do ? I hope I am wrong, what I don't understand is our class last year was great and then this.

I can't believe how some posters can't get the grasp that when your working with a limited amount of scholarships, you're working with a limited amount of scholarships.. Its not that hard to understand!

420, I agree with you. It astonishes me how some people either don't know about, or don't understand exactly what the Griz just went through with the NCAA. They also don't understand how scholarships work in the first place. I seriously believe posters like Alaska think the Griz can give as much money and sign anybody they want. That it's like pro baseball or something.

I'm completely opposite of what Alaska and others are saying. Given the reduction, and given that the Griz didn't land five of their Top 10 on their big board, it looks to me like Green didn't just do the best he could, it looks like he did a GREAT job.

wow, since you are such an authority on recruiting and breaking down recruiting classes why are you wasting your valuable time and vast knowledge on eGriz? I would think someone with the recruiting prowess that you obviously have would have way bigger fish to fry???

I would really like to see more egrizzers break down this class. I am the only one who has so far. It kind of sucks being the only one. I expected more people to give it a shot.

Bigsharp..You couldn't be more wrong in one aspect. I thought the 2013 Griz were one of the most INSPIRED teams I've ever seen in this great histroy of the program. No player, ever quit, not in a game, not in a series, not in a down. I thought it was one of the most inspired and gutsy Griz teams OF ALL TIME, with Mick Delaney as the head coach.

Also, wanna put some money on MD retiring at the end of 2014??? PM me No joke

2014 Recruiting Class: B

All in all it was a good class. I'm mostly impressed with how many out of state players we got as walk-on's. One thing that confused me a bit was the fact that we didn't get any CB's. I'm assuming Mick has plans to make some of the 21 WR's, CB's.

How about the job the coaches did getting out of state recruits to walk on in the first place? Does anyone realize how expensive it for an out of state student to attend the University? I have to give the coaches credit for that.. They did a real good job getting those kids to come up here to play football.. We'll be fine!

Sorry, i did not see your post in regards to out of state walk ons.. I agree 100%

.....your posts mean nothing w/out new pics.

though your last one was hard to beat..........

It is ignorant to compare the UM and EWU signing classes, like apples to pears.

EWU had 3-4 times as many scholarships to offer. Also if you look at their class, it is almost all Washington kids. With their success on the field lately and their location, in Washington, they do have an advantage recruiting in Western Washington. EWU has a pretty good thing going. Montana did not have the resources this recruiting season, but they sure better "Make Hay" when they do.

FWIW,
My screen name is Alaska Griz, and I am generally on the opposite side of Alaskagriz. Last year seemed like a very good class, however, the fact is that we don't know whether least year's class was any better than this years because neither class has developed and had their day in court. Plus, their make-up is different.
