How would you rate this class?

Just perused your signing list and checked out the Hudl videos on some of the more celebrated signees. That David Reese kid you guys picked up is a real monster. I wish EWU had thrown him an offer! Looks like the Grizzlies did well in recruiting. Looking forward to next season.

From what I can tell, the early signs (and highlight tape) points to Reese being an absolute animal, Rasmussen will have an early impact, and Thomas and Epperly look great. What I love about this class is what this program has thrived on over the years.. kids that have to come in and work their asses off to make the field by their red shirt Frosh year on special teams... then have a huge impact as they become upper classmen on their respective side of the ball. It's been the case with a ton of MT kids... and we've got a bunch this year, as well as out of state walk-ons. Pretty impressive work done in recruiting, IMO.

I give this class a C-/D+. Here are my issues.

1) With the plethora of scholarships available this year, I am surprised this is all they could come up with.
2) Where is the beef?
3) Should be more Montana kids
4) Too many kids not from Montana
5) No 3-star recruits
6) Don’t see a single recruit equal to NDSU’s class.

Shame. The free-fall continues.

Damn it Raider! I told you to start using those smilies and emoticons or people are just not going to get your sarcasm. This is my last warning mister.

I know sarcasm overload on my part. Thanks for picking up on it in the other thread and defusing the slower crowd.

I do find it funny how the e-griz tone related to this recruiting class has changed in the last couple of days. A week ago the sky was falling.

Anyone not impressed with the job this staff has done this year, considering the limitations, has their head up their arse.

We're onto you now, you bastard. :finger:

we definitely got some guys that will start here down the road. there's a good chance several of those walkons will be big contributors at some point. a B sounds about right.

I agree. A couple of stars, but comparing bios from past years, it would suggest this is an off year.

I love the way m/d approached this class, with the card he was dealt,,,knowing that there is very good talent every year that never gets recognized, he went for selling these kids as walk ons and earn it when we get the scholarships back,,,there will be some future Montana kids on here that will be excellent because they will have earned it and appreciate being a griz....it may be a genius move on m/d part, knowing greater numbers increase your odds of getting quality players....I like it...go griz...

Good point. Our inept president and his advisers tweedle dumb and tweedle dumber dealt MD a handicap for his recruiting. MD did a nice job of getting some kids to walk on vs. taking NAIA offers.

Which begs the question: Are they REALLY just NAIA talent? :| :|

AZ,
not to be captain obvious, but that is precisely the feat MD has accomplished. He's gotten alot of kids to come out and show what they have, thus, more kids to find a gem amongst. More for less. Some are NAIA talent ,some are FCS, some are FBS. That's too black and white for me, because it ignores all the other intangibles, but for some that works.

I applaud the effort, no doubt. And I have high hopes for a couple (or more) of these young men on the football field.

Way too many Montana kids in this signing class. Everybody knows Montana kids are dumb, lazy and soft.

Nice try AWF, but your sarcasm is well known. Raider is now, also, a known practitioner of the timeless art of sarcasm. My blank response to his posts, as with yours, is a smirk. An emoticon, btw, that this site desperately needs...

DISAPPOINTING: C-/D+

- Not enough attention to buidling OL depth through recruiting
- LB seem to be a solid place for us to include more nasty slobber knocking talent, too
- I dont see enough two way athletic talent & speed in this class to get excited about
- EWU seems to be out recruiting us by a long shot & that is NOT acceptable

I love my in state recruits as much as anyone else but they have "make the cut" I would like to know how many of the in state guys were getting attention from program other than MSU/UM???

This was a class that was recurited by a lame duck coach. Dont be fooled...this is Micks last year. Hate to say it but our current head coach is not strong in this area & he doesnt inspire the young athletes of today in a way that makes them want to play for him!

Some of you all aint going to like that last portion of this post...but you all can kick rocks if you cant take of the rose colored glasses. Hell Im 58yrs old and can recognize that college sports is an ever changing beast. We need to adapt right along with it.

Or accept our continued slide out of the top tier of the best FSC conference in America.

I still find it hard to believe Delaney didn't bring in more Linemen... he must be planning on picking some up later on. That's virtually unheard of. Check out the beef EWU signed:
