The question really should be how will the Griz make the officials irrelevant in the outcome? Ironically enough, going back to games and seasons of yesteryears, we were victorious in countless games and scenarios that made you just scratch your head. Maybe it was because we were good enough to overcome odd situations. So it is safe to say these things just come back around to bite you in the tail end when we aren’t good enough to overcome them. The officiating hasn’t gotten worse friends.

My stance on the matter is the fact the referees are human and we need to play better football to make them obsolete. It starts today! Go Griz!

Good post; it's the Varsity mentality, and our fan base used to have it.

Quick questions: If this call had been made in the Alabama/Tennessee game, would we still be hearing about it a week later? If it had happened to Bama, would their fans still be talking about it? I’d say they have a “varsity” mentality, whatever that is.

No way. Them boys got that varsity mentality. It’s that rough nosed, head down, do yer job, lunch pail, rugged collar, rough n’ tussle, roll around, maybe slip a digit here and there mentality.

Even with all that we still would have beat the #2 team in the country at their place if not for one horrendous call. So maybe, just maybe, we aren't as bad as you seem to believe.
Couldn’t you have just went down and scored any points with 3:39 and all your timeouts?

No! Don’t look behind the curtain! That’s not how this mob mentality works!

I don't think we got screwed, so much as we just caught some bad breaks. It happens. Today is a different day.

I would call the gangster like deliberate targeting of our quarterback which changed the outcome of the game as getting screwed!

Why did we need to do that? We had a seven point lead and the ball after sac turned it over on downs. Two first downs is all that was necessary.

Not after the blown call that set them up for their game tying touchdown. Blown calls that every big sky team sees every week. We’ll see more today. Just seems to me after yet another blown call by the officials, the griz still had almost 4 minutes, all of their timeouts, in a tie game where even a field goal could have won the game.

I don’t disagree. But Brown. :|

"With the score tied with 7 seconds remaining and while in punt formation, Weber's long-snapper sends the ball to Pluto. After a 27 minute discussion, the bsc officials rule that since Pluto is no longer a planet, no penalty occurred"

Most likely outcome.

Well, you're not wrong; it is all of those things. Certainly not full of excuses and conspiracy theories.
