Okay, I figure I’ve earned (or not) an off-the wall thread (91 votes on the “Upsets” thread can’t all be wrong  ).
Here’s a scenario:
(Step 1)
Monmouth crushes Holy Cross.
(Step 2).
Monmouth goes to JMU and pulls off the upset. JMU is really good, but Monmouth has some talent and they’ve improved vastly since the Griz played them.
Griz pound a first-round winner at home. Or squeak by, Who cares?
The “stars align” and (see where this is going? :thumb: )
The Monmouth Hawks re-visit WaGriz for a semi-final game.
I know, talk about counting chickens. But I just a bit ago realized that UM and Monmouth were on the same side of the bracket … and this struck me as a crazy possibility. (And, yes, I know the Griz would probably have to go through Weber to get to that point.)
That, of course, brings the doubt about being able to beat the same team twice in the same year.
Whatever ... GO GRIZ! :egriz:
