How much is a NC run worth?

I don't believe there really is a payout at the FCS level. The NCAA takes a cut of the gate and covers expenses.
The host institution declares a budget that covers the obvious expenses and then guarantees a minimum payout to the NCAA. The absolute minimums (varying by playoff level) are specifically defined, but the kicker is: "a minimum financial guarantee ... shall be 75 percent of the estimated net receipts listed on the online hosting proposal." That money goes to the NCAA, with the host allowed to retain just 15% of the "net receipts" for the game. Beyond that, they are very picky about what the host institution pays for versus what the NCAA pays for.

Just one example: The host must provide a full set of high-speed cabling for live-game instant replay. A company selected by the NCAA apparently provides the cameras, viewscreens, and the techs to run the equipment. (That last makes sense ... to avoid obvious conflicts if the host provided the techs.) That section concludes: "Failure to agree to provide the necessary instant replay cabling will likely remove an institution from consideration for hosting."

Another somewhat odd (to me) example: The host institution must pay the lodging cost for the officials and the NCAA on-site representative. However, the NCAA pays their per diem, travel expenses, and any fees.

Can't even guess what sort of deal the NCAA cuts for the Natty.

I'd be curious what this run has been worth the the Missoula area?

I think someone mentioned the playoff games had netted local businesses in Missoula 7.5 Million, don't know where it was posted on here and I think it was before the NDSU game.
