How many lives left?

C'mon ladies and gentlemen, grizzly bears and cubs. We've used up a few lives in this tournament, and you know it.

--Fall down five to North Dakota in the second half, but are able to pull out a tense win very late against a team we'd pretty much manhandled in the regular season.
--Get an apparent break when the lower seed, Northern Colorado, knocks of the higher seed, Weber Wildcats.
--Lose the three-point battle by nine against North Dakota, and 18 against Northern Colorado ( a major Achilles heel for this team), yet still win both games.
--Get an unforced 10 second violation against NCU, leading to...
--A remarkable turnaround prayer three from Moorehead to tie the game.
--Get a two-shot miss at the foul line with 1.8 seconds left to send the game to overtime.

As dominating as we've been the in the regular season, we've hardly have played like that in this tournament.

Remarkable testimony to the character of this team, but can character take us to a championship? Do we have three lives left?

Guess what? I think we do.

Character is destiny.

I had to feel badly for the kid who missed the free throws at the end of the game. On the other hand, didn't Oguine do the exact same thing at Georgia State, a game UM should never have lost. It is moments like this that make basketball the game it is. Games can turn on small things. Like, tonight, De Cuire putting Rorie on the Big Sky player of the year and as close to being Larry Bird as we have seen in a long time, and it changed everything. This year's Griz have been great fun to watch. And, for once I can say, I can't wait till next year!

This is a picture of me from last Wednesday:

I'm trying to think of a player Bogdan compares to that we've seen in the Big Sky and I really can't think of one.

Comparing him to Bird might be a stretch, but Bogdan was a unique player in the Big Sky that could hurt you in many ways (even when he wasn't scoring).

He's probably more like a quicker, yet smaller, Nikola Jokic.

How often does a 6'6" SF/PF basically play PG for a top 4 Big Sky team and show the type of skillset Bliznyuk did? EWU is going to miss him. If they accept a CIT or CBI bid I wouldn't be surprised to see him help carry them deep into those tournaments.

Reminds me of a right handed Chris Mullin.

The late, Great, UCLA coach John Wooden said it best. "All Great things come wrapped in adversity! The cream rose to the top and that's all that mattered! Just a prelude to the 2018 football season!!!
Go Griz!
