Stitt is not a coach that wants to wait. Solid man and like all head coaches is looking toward his first game. I normally am not giddy about our chances this season but after having a good visit with our coach I am on the plus side. We will know for damn sure after the first three games!

Stitt's offense is not designed to be a quick score offense. It has a history of controlling the ball. I am sure there will be quick scores, but there will be more ball control possessions than there will be quick scores. Stitt has mentioned a few times his offense is not about quick scores. The main difference in his offense is how quickly they get plays off and the versatility of the offense to control the ball.

Like the way this offense dominated D2 football.

Don't make stupid statements. There is zero relevance between what he did at Mines and what he may do here. The defenses he faced at that level were Div. II defenses. He will now have FCS athletes on offense going against FCS athletes on defense. Apples to apples. Bottom line is there is no way to correlate anything from his past to the future.

Defense wins championships anyway, which concerns me a bit about Stitt.

His offense is going to make Ty's D look a LOT better...

Ty's defense better be a lot better, because they will be on the field a lot more times with the hurry-up offense. remember the Read days? Lots of our scores were 50-28 or so. People thought our defense was bad then, but when our offense scored in 1-3 minutes per possession, our defense was always back on the field before really catching their breath!

Stitt plans on running 90-100 plays a game. That doesn't translate into "quick" scores. Quick PLAYS, maybe, but my guess is our D is on the field a lot less than it was during Delaney's tenure with his insistence on establishing the run game without an O-line...

 Didn't read your post before responding to Growler, but I obviously agree 100%.

Yes, if you can CONSISTANTLY get 3-4 yard on every play you'd be unstoppable, but it would take quite a few plays to make a long drive. Following that idea it IS mathematically possible to get 25 plays in a 90 yard drive. Silly, but possible.

If defensive coordinators choose to back off the secondary in order to 'keep things in front of them' you are going to see an absurd level of short passes. They'll be easy completion, high percentage type passes, with quick tackles. I predict that when we see the d-backs play soft, Stitt will up the tempo.
