How Good is Trey Lance?

I guess I just don’t think about Trey Lance as much as you do. I don’t follow Bizon football as closely as you do, but I’ve read stuff about locking onto a receiver, less than stellar footwork in the pocket, and him benefitting from passing against a stacked box against 1-on-1 coverage most of the game since he only throws like 18 times per game (because the Bizon play such boring football).

The level of competition in his conference just isn’t where it needs to be for him to have proven himself as a top round draft pick.

Same things were said about Wentz....who went on to make an all pro team, set numerous NFL records etc.

Trey has inconsistent footwork at times. He has locked onto receiver at times. Overall though....phenomenal footwork. Great decision making.

Trevor Lawrence also locks onto receivers. He has inconsistent footwork.

Hell Andrew Luck was arguably the greatest QB prospect ever and he got critiqued for struggling at times. It takes QB’s years to develop

The largest issues with Trey is short term passing. He has missed easy throws at times...but he’s a freshman and overall his accuracy is far above average. He throws a tremendous deep ball and has a rocket for an arm.

The lock onto receivers comment is wrong. For a freshman, I’ve really never seen a better QB. He’s above where Wentz ever was in college....and Wentz went number 2

Trey’s an above average passer, but his athletic ability puts him as a first round pick. That’s equally as important in today’s NFL.

Happy to see you switched it up. Maybe you’ll keep it.
I totally agree that Lance is a great prospect. He definitely has some issues, which you noted. But everybody does, which you also noted. I was thinking 4th, but I’m starting to see the kid as a decent 3rd rounder. He will suit up somewhere. Put it this way: I predict that he won’t be selling life insurance and/or Chryslers in St. Paul in 2023.

WTF? Serious CDA right now:

Hey, if that was somehow racist, I supremely apologize. It was not intended that way at all, and I honestly don’t understand how it would be considered as such. I was just referring to the amount of former pro athletes who work in those industries in their hometowns, and I read he is from Minnesota. I also said he will be playing and not doing that. Let’s leave the race BS alone for a bit.

Bullshit. Black athlete stereotype of selling insurance/cars if they can’t play sports. It was ignorant comment that has a racist undertone.

Also....he’s from a small town near the SD border. 3 hours away from St. Paul....:doesn’t surprise me you assumed he was from the cities since he’s black , right?

How is it racist to sell life insurance or cars in St. Paul?

What CDA said is not even remotely racist. Jeez, don't be so stupid.

Speaking of being black and in or close to SD, my friend grew up in Aberdeen. The town had only 1 black family at the time. The husband of the black family was the town's only private investigator.

Can we cool it with that? Buddy, I’m mixed race, my children are mixed race. My wife, interestingly enough, is the only one in the family who isn’t, although she’s a product of the Vietnamese diaspora. I wish we could just chill on this stuff. It helps nothing.

Bull
Shit

Imagine walking up to Trey Lance and saying, “So if you don’t make it in the NFL, what are you going to do? Probably go sell cars or insurance back in St. Paul, right?”

Fucking ignorant racist undertone. I know you are an attorney , so you’ll spin it every way you can.

That was you?! Damn, dude, cool it with the free weights. You’re making all of us look bad. Dr. CDA sends her regards.

What the hell does this have to do with anything?

I grew up 1 hour from Aberdeen. Considering the fact that Aberdeen has had 20,000-30,000 in the community since the 1950’s, I’m going to go out on a limb and say I highly doubt there has ever been a period of time in the last 70 years where Aberdeen had one black family.

In fact...I’d bet you $1,000 that your friends friend didn’t grow up in the only black family in Aberdeen.

Okay serious me.

You’re likely not a racist. But say that to any black athlete like Trey Lance, and you are going to be called a racist.

At the very least, it was ignorant.

Bud, you can troll on here all you want, and you do. You can call me any names you want, and you do. But, do not endeavor to call me a racist when you don’t know anything about me. It’s offensive and hurtful to me and my entire family. Just don’t do it. Free advice. Chill.

"Frugal" is my middle name. The misses said that you have a solid game around the hole, but you are a little wild with the wood. This could explain the propensity to splash, but she is all for the extra strokes.

You're embarrassing yourself. Please. Just stop. All my black, Indian (I know, you are like that Cooper woman in Central Park and want me to call myself Native American, but...), white, Korean, and gay relatives in Nort Duhkotah, South Dakota and Minnesota are embarrassed of and for you right now. You're just a dumb ass punk. And probably fat too.

She’s always been the toughest and most accurate critic.

Okay, do some research on the late mid to late 60s and let us know.
