How do you replace a Michael Wortham

Monte is lightning fast and quick. I love what he brings but durability questions need to be answered. I dont think he can take Worthams workload and im willing to bet the threat to throw the ball is not there or at the same level certainly. I just dont think Worthams skill set is fully replaceable. That is not a knock on Monte but a tip of the cap to Wortham. He is an outlier and a special football player. If Brent Pease publicly states you are the smartest player he has ever coached thats special. Add that to some rare physical gifts and you have greatness. Too bad we only had him for 1 season. Oh what could have been.

I don’t think you can replace Wortham. He was a very unique talent both running the ball and catching the ball and then YAC. The offense was perfect for him and the way they utilized him in it was perfect. I’m not sure we can slot a current guy into that role and be as effective. Sometimes these Marianis, Toures, Worthams only come around every once in a while.

Very true some guys just aren’t replaceable.

There is a young man on our football team who is much like Michael Wortham. Graduating this year only has one D1 offer, but is definitely under the radar. Strong, fast, smart, and works his butt off in the gym. All state at WR, DB, and PR in region 3 in Virginia. Great kid with a great personality. His huddle and bio is out there. Maybe one of you in the know could have a coach take a look at him.
He is Uriah Rutan. Definitely worth a look IMHO. Truest competitor I have had the privilege to coach. However, I am not his football coach, but his coaches would agree.

Got to someone out there...ex QB,, fast ,agile, route finder, catcher, thrower. Ya know, what I would recommend is hiring Wortham as a coach and recruiter. He knows what to look for, interview for and train those of whom we want in that slot/QB position.

Former QB?
No, he won't be Wortham, but he'll be a damn fine wildcard. No one will be Wortham, just like no one will be Junior, and no one will be Mariani. His skill set is perfect for this type of position, and the coaches will run plays that fit him. Brooks Davis will probably be the gadget player that throws the TDs.
