How confident...

We have no choice, but to be with him. I expect a few mistakes, just hope those mistakes aren't at costly times. Working in his favor are an experienced OL and talented surrounding cast. I am sure DC's will be sending a lot of variety his way. The key will be, how well does he recognize things, and lead?

I havent seen enough to know. Phillips was starting to not just manage the offense but command it. He also was becoming a leader if not the leader of the team.
Certainly the leader of the offense. Hopefully Jensen can do the same and I think the increased experience for Jensen will pay dividends down the road.

Agreed. Next man up, but it won't be the same without Phillips. He was on his way to being the best qb in the conference.

We will see. Phillips was developing into something special. Hadn't felt that comfortable at QB since JJ.

Agreed. He played smoothly, always seemed in control.

I think Jensen will be really good. Question is what is the learning curve? He has the tools, very smart, knows the offense. Just needs to play, fain reps, gain confidence.

Phillips was the better quarterback the Griz just took a step back with the injury. I hope by the end of the season they can take 2 steps forward. Jensen does not look like a Freshmen. He is a big kid that can run and throw the football but he is also just a Freshmen and will have some bumps along the way.

until the offense and jensen get their feet underneath them 4-5 games,,,this is where the "team" rises as one to do what is necessary....in other words, it's on the defense for a while ..... this has been the mantra of stitt since last year ended, time to put it to work.

How many Stitt haters will take into consideration the season ending loss of our starting QB if the Griz finish below their preseason expectations/requirements? I still think this team can go 5-3 in conference and 7-4 gets them into the playoff I believe.....

AZ the haters would not be satisfied if Stitt went 10-1. They hate him because he is not BH. They are rooted in the past and fail to recognize that the world changed. I agree the
Griz could go 7-4 and hope it is better. EWU is a big test. Win that one and it sets the mood for the rest of the season. I predict a win, but it will be a close game. 45 - 38. Griz win and Jensen has 275 passing, 25 rushing with one interception. My greatest concern - the Griz secondary. Hopefully there will be a lot of pressure on EWU's QB?

As a quarterback I have no doubt Jensen will become a winner. Smart, hard worker, and plenty of talent and athleticism. My concern still falls squarely on the offensive line. Eastern just registered their highest sack total in a game. 10. Granted I know nothing about Fordham but I do know eastern will focus squarely on pressuring the quarterback. We will find out on Saturday. If the protection holds up Jensen will have a great night.

7-4 and barley getting into the playoffs only to lose in the 1st round.. what a season. lol

Then we can sign Stitt for a few more years of 7-4 seasons cause that's how he rolls. Sounds great, doesn't it?

I think Jensen has every skill and smarts you want in a QB. I know the coaches and players have said he is the future of this team. We have all been excited to see him play....but this isn't the way any of us wanted it to happen.

I think he will show everyone what he is capable of. But there was something about Phillips that was looking so solid. That "it" factor and the easy control of the offense. The Griz were using the middle of the field with Phillips and he was doing the intangibles you can't teach. He got flushed from the pocket a couple times and created plays with that shuttle pass. He was smart in shuttling the ball out of bounds instead of taking a sack for a loss. It's those little things that go so far and Phillips was dialed into that.

I truly think he was going to have a first team all conference type of year so his loss hurts really bad. But if I had to pick one replacement it would be Gresch. It's his turn now. I hope he can show us all how incredible he is too.

I didn't say the Griz would lose in the first round. You did. Telling. GJ will improve by the end of the year - or Hill will if necessary. I root for this team and the program. Not against it.

Phillips was as cool of a QB under pressure as we have had in a long time. Jensen really needs the oline to step up because defenses are going to bring pressure against a freshman QB. That being said, I think he is the best 2md team QB in the conference so Griz are very lucky.

Agreed. Phillips was looking to me like he may have been one of the best QB in the FCS this year. Gonna be damn hard for Gresch to replace him.

Phillips was really starting to look good, and i'm sure if we all had a say in it we would have him back next week but we know that is not possible. I was pretty impressed with Jensen coming in and playing the way he did. I'm sure its one thing to go in for a play or two or even just finish the game because the starter got nicked up, It's a whole other deal when the coach says you just moved to #1, its your ship son.
