How are we feeling?

1 conference game down. How is everyone feeling about the rest of conference?

D and special teams were lackluster at best. Offense played out of their minds and won the game. Thank God we got the Inferno monkey off of our backs.

What games do you consider to be the highest of importance and what game might you consider as a trap game?

I feel great - damn glad we beat EWU. Yes I'm worried about the defense, but I also recognize that they won't face a game / team / situation like they did there until the last game of the regular season, so they have time to clean some stuff up.

Every game forward is super important. Good odds NAU will be ranked when we see them, as will Davis. Those will be key games to woo the voters. Obviously can't drop anything else. Need to have just 1 loss headed to the brawl.

As for the brawl, at this point I'm worried it'll look a lot like that EWU game and be stressful AF. If the Montana offense stalls it'll be a bloodbath.

The goal is as many playoff home games as possible. Our schedule (until MSU) sets up nicely but the Griz can't trip up. NAU and Davis will be tough, their defenses are better and their offenses are very good.

Agreed Brint, being at home for UCD, Weber, and NAU is YUGE. I feel better that those game are in WA Griz.

Playing in the litter box always sucks, but I have a weird feeling the away team gets the W this year 😈

I know Northern Colorado is god awful, but as to my recollection we have always played “down” to their level when we play in Greeley. This one has me nervous in a weird way.

One game at a time, keep the train rolling, and stack those W’s

Our D needs a lot of help !!! We ain't going back to Frisco let alone winning the chipper with our D that played on Saturday in Cheney !!!

I will be anxiously watching this Saturday against Weber to learn what Tim Hauck and Coop come up with--maybe zone instead of man and/or some new faces in the starting lineup after we got shredded in Cheney !!!

After watching the game live I was very frustrated with the defense, and after watching the game again I was still frustrated but less so. On a number of plays the defense was only a little bit out of position and one guy taking a better angle could have resulted in a much different outcome. So I think there's hope for them to get things cleaned up.

I think in a lot of ways we have to just flush this game and move on to the next. Weber at home should be a whole different ballpark than this last game. Just keep winning...

I feel glad we are still in the BSC. Even though some feel the conference is somehow beneath us, it is great fun to beat a long-time conference rival who we haven't beat on the road in 16 years,

Historically, Hauck teams get better as the season goes on. I don’t believe this season or team will be different. I would like to see this years team put games away when they get up. Didn’t do it with UND. Didn’t do it with EWU. The onside kick error was egregious. Can’t happen again and that one was on the coaches.

If our defense doesn't get a lot better, then there's a lot to worry about. I am concerned about our kick coverage also. Eagles were not worried about running the ball out of the endzone-I figure they say a problem with our coverage in previous games. Need to fix this.

Ya, NAU worries me also.

Go Griz

In a word: uncertain. It seems the Griz could win or lose, against any team in the top 25, in any given week. They've shown they have the offense to contend with anyone, while also fielding a defense that at times struggles against everyone but the weakest offenses. I agree with an earlier poster that EWU is potentially our trap game this year and am thankful the Griz held on for the win! Taking the season one week at a time will help assuage any stress about trying to predict weekly results.

Has it ever occurred that execution and mistakes might have been the problem?

I actually feel pretty good.
It's nice to know, the offense can pick up the defense. I doubt the defense can get worse. They can only improve.

I honestly don't expect that bad of defense again this season for a full game.

The offense looks like it can score 30 against any defense.

I felt the exact same way. Amazing how small things can change the complexion of the game so much. I feel that if Gradney had been able to get ahold of the route he jumped in the 3rd quarter for a pick six the eags would have been done and it would have been 38-14 and 2 plays later and they break the big run and it’s 31-21. Big swing play there on both sides in a short time, and I don’t think we see the crazy 4th quarter if it goes the opposite way.

Not saying our defense isn’t the weaker group right now or even a liability, but it’s not the dumpster fire that everyone is making out to be, especially when taking into account injuries this year.

Also Gilman puts us up 17 again immediately and the defense gets a big stop and turnover on downs in their own end the next series and we pound ostmo all the way down the field. Then Pease gets cute and we settle for the fg try and 0 points. We had a real shot to make it 45-14 by the end of the 3rd quarter. Instead within a 10 minute span it’s 38-35.
