I just tuned into the LBSU/UCSB game. 13 minutes left. 39-35 LBSU
Bad memories from the last time we played in the Beach.

They are a solid defensive team, but offense not even close to what they were the last few years. They do have some athleticism again though.
Your exactly right, but they have the kind of quickness we need to play against before the tourney. They are used to Big Sky quickness right now, and a wake up call might not hurt? :?:

They are a carbon copy of the GRIZ. Small, quick, athletic, versatile, and little post presence. Ward might be the best post forward of the 2 teams, at least offensively.

Wow, Jennings has one ugly FT shooting method (could not use the word form or style, because those would be compliments.)

Yeah I would like the match up, it could be a high scoring game, or could be a foul out fest? No more Casper Ware, sounds like he is playing pro ball in Italy.. :thumb:

Ware and their forward (was his last name Davis?), were quite a combination. I am surprised Ware is not in the NBA. He held his own against everyone, and heard he played well against pros in summer leagues.

LBSU has the player with the best last name I have heard this year, Pappageorge. I immediately thought of the movie Vegas Vacation when I heard the name. Rudy's fake ID was Pappa Georgio.

Beach is really sloppy with ball. Cherry could get 10 ball steals against them. 55-50 Beach 1:40

Very sloppy with the ball. 10 1st half turnovers, and several in the 2nd half. Most the turnovers have been just plain not being aware and trying to make too much out of a play.

Yeah I had to look him up. He was alot like Cherry? Kinda thought he might had made a NBA roster, but wasn't sure. Guess not, he was a good one. Hopefully Cherry has better luck?

Yep :thumb: wow 3 tied 55 with 14:5 sec

I hope you do play them. I would even be tempted to cheer for you. I don't like either team but you winning would help the conference.

I wanted to throw this out and get some thoughts. I know this has been touched on before. We were BS-ing about St. Mary's last night. Why aren’t/can’t we get some OOC games against some lower level WCC teams? Just to get on the radar some. Maybe even set up some Home and Home series. I think we all agree about the difficulty of getting decent OOC games these days but it just seems like the MWC and the PAC 12 aren't biting. Neither are the better WCC teams. SF was a good opponent. What about a 4 game road trip to Cali and take on some WCC teams? It would have to help for recruiting. It is frustrating being in the Big Sky. It’s like being chained to a corpse. Maybe put some wins up on the board and in a couple years start playing some of the better WCC. Just seems like we have so few options in the west.

I get it.. If we cant get students and fans in the seats at home early in year? Why not schedule like Long Beach did last year? They played a top 20 if not higher schedule, and won a few, but they played tough close games to top 25's on the road and their RPI and recognition sky rocketed as did Gonzaga's in the early days. Gotto play the best and make sacrifices to be the best? The fans wont show early season anyway??

Usually, Montana schedules two SoCal teams per year...this year is kind of unusual. I have seen the Griz at Pepperdine, LMU, Fullerton, Riverside and Sta. Barbara, and, of course, Northridge and UCLA...the Big Sky expansion makes it tough....I think they have won about half...the Griz also schedule NoCal as well....

Yes, roll the damn dice and try and become a significant MM. Our OOC games are going backwards while we get struck with the stank of being associated with the BSC.

Our current RPI is 120. Here are the regional BracketBuster host teams with similar RPI.
Saint Mary's-63
Northern Iowa-100
Long Beach St-116
Utah St-138
Cal Poly-187

Looks like we could be playing Long Beach 3 out of the last 4 years? Or going to Logan, but Northern Iowa would be my favorite game...
Northern Iowa is gonna bump up RPI after beating Wichita St today.

We moved up to 109 after the games this week. Utah St up to 124. Northern Iowa only moved up 5 after beating Wichita St to #95. ESPN Andy Katz has us playing Utah St :thumb: and Weber playing Oral Roberts in Tulsa.
