Honest and Forthright Griz Fan Podcast

Listening to it now. I get the sense that Hauck is almost making it harder on players to succeed instead of letting their talent take over. I'm having a hard time of thinking of an offensive player that has gotten better over the years. And I hear a lot of praise from broadcasters and fans about how amazing the coaching staff is but it doesn't seem like they can make any meaningful adjustments in games that they get outcoached. Frustrating, to say the least.

Hey, Brent. Start listening at 1:24 and 20 seconds.

At 1:24:20 we're talking WR depth and the future there.

Colter hops in on transfers. "They" (athletic dept/FB) puts info out to others to spread around the community bc they don't do it themselves. He's been consistently critical of how communications come from the UM because he sees other schools as far more interactive and informative. That's nothing new. The UM uses surrogates or just doesn't care and shares some messages and calls the rest good. He then expounds more on the source of transfers on this team are from smaller/worse schools were prior transfers are from bigger FBS schools.

Here's the actual conversation, which ties into precisely what I said above.

"They have to pump everyone up. They know how to manipulate (talking about coaches) certain elements of the storyline because they have connections. They don't talk to the community very much or very well (talking about the coaches) unless you pay a bunch of money to go listen to them but they do have people that do. And so, they put storylines into people's heads. Absolutely! And those are the people that go out and talk to us and spread it around. When they are saying it all the time, they believe it, or they want you to believe it."

No, it doesn't. It doesn't support what you say at all. It's mostly talking the about the coaches and the program. And, it's also wrong.

Hike does more damage with his false narratives than the people he is trying to throw under the bus. Guy is wrong on almost everything he posts.
You are exactly correct. It's people like Hike that hurt the program. Plus, I assume he doesn't provide financial support to the athletic department, by the way he talks. He just serves cold stale burgers to his friends. Yuck.

I have always felt that reporters like Colter have a but of hard-on because UM doesn't spoon-feed info to them and give great access. It's just their personal view in their narrow world. That's okay, but it's certainly not a big deal to me. Coaches and programs do things differently

It's talking about people like you. We could find a thousand posts on egriz where you reference information from the coaches.

Yes, I base many of my posts on what the coaches have said. Usually, from interviews, press conferences, newspaper articles, other public settings, QB Club, and sometimes private or semi-private conversations. That's why my posts are generally accurate and provide good information.

People like you just make stuff up and distort and lie about what people have said.

You are a cancer to the program. Virtually everyone on egriz thinks you are a joke and agrees with me on what you are.

Podcasters: Todd Foster, not Todd Fraser, was the good Great Falls boxer. He was my friend and sometimes client.
He was royalty in great falls for a little bit. I remember when he got married to his ex-wife, the whole town wanted to show up. I was especially lucky because we were family friends of someone that did some publicity stuff for him when he got back from Seoul so I was at the airport when he got back into town. I had an autographed tshirt that I wore all the time as a kid. To the point it was so threadbarren I would get sunburns through it when I would golf as a kid. Todd "The Kid" Foster.

There is a fairly prevalent narrative on the socials that the staff is outcoached way too often. Sometimes it is a bit of hyperbole borne of frustration, but other times it is justified. And Colter hit on it a couple of times in the podcast. He cited a conversation he had directly (not hearsay) with Cat defensive coaches on Saturday night. The Cat coaches had identified areas they knew they were vulnerable and expected to get attacked there. I think it was like 10-12 plays they were wary of. The Griz ran only one of them. And Colter mentioned Bobby's comment about the Cats "chucking it up" a couple times and connecting. It's part of their offensive plan and it pays dividends whether it's completed or not. So, it's not luck as Bobby would have us believe, but a coach in denial of another team's coaching acumen.

Bobby made a similar uncomplimentary comment about NAU's "Daffy Duck" play that went 89 yards for a TD. Any chance the NAU staff had noticed how often our defense is confused getting lined up and wanted to take advantage of it?

I was sitting next to his wife, whom I really liked, at ringside (I think Bozeman) when he lost his first fight. She got up to go to his corner before the fight was even called. She and we saw the punches that ended it. It was a sad and shocking time.
