Home of the FCS Championship getting a $180 Million Renovation

I don't quite get the Frisco hate. I went to the championship in January and thought Frisco did a great job with hosting the event.
Same.

A bunch of us former players met in Frisco everything was super easy, clean and new. Food was great, hotels were within walking distance and stadium was easily accessed

Maybe it was just the charter that was not good. Our hotel was an hour bus ride from Frisco, totally surrounded by multi-lane highways and there was no way you could walk ANYWHERE! I thought the baseball park where Grizfest was held was much better than the soccer stadium. And, the “line” to get in was terrible … took better than an hour. Never got anything to eat or drink at the game because you would have waited half an hour just to place an order.

Probably a lot different experience for you then. We stayed 2 blocks from Toyota stadium. Had bars and food within 4-6 blocks walking in at least 2 different directions. Rented a car thinking I needed one and drove it to the hotel and never used it again except to haul people to Grizfest at the baseball field. Took an Uber to Tightends once to see what all the hubub was about. then back to airport to fly back to Montana

The food in the stadium was sub-par anyway so you weren't missing anything.

I went the first year they hosted when EWU won. I've never been to Chattanooga so I have no comparison to the old site, but it seemed like a perfectly fine area and venue.

I can't remember where I stayed because it was some variant of a Hampton Inn/Holiday Inn Express. It was just far enough away from the stadium to require an Uber. There were a few restaurants across the parkway, but they were all variants of Applebee's/BW3's. Wasn't impressed. The whole area seemed like the setting of Office Space.

I think the MLS stadium in Houston could be a good alternative if they're not going to ever entertain the idea of the brand-new football stadium in San Diego. The Houston stadium is very close to the downtown area, so there would be much better dining and lodging.

Didn't San Diego St just open a brand new 35,000 seat stadium?

So, if all goes as planned, and no administrative, contractor, or governmental 'problems' encountered, the 2026 and 2027 NC games will be played before half the attendance of the 2025 game(half the stadium being worked on each year). Why the hell doesn't the NCAA move the game elsewhere, for at least those two years to, for instance, Chattanooga, Las Vegas, or MISSOULA?
