It's not that surprising he was probably not getting drafted, he is more of a free agent walk on type.

I think it is VERY surprising considering who was invited from the Big Sky.

No shit..couldnt beleive this. Holmes and the DE out of SUU both should have been envited. Sandman wasnt all that impressive, either were his numbers considering he played for a team that put up 78 points every weekend ( except cat/griz)....

there are much more impressive and enticing players in the BSC that you would have thought the combine wanted. Sandland is questionable to even be drafted.

I'm impressed you managed to spell enticing correctly, but still butchered "envited". Lol.

I don't get how Holmes doesn't get invited. Does anybody know if they have set limits at each position?

I'm going to predict that by the time the combine rolls around, Holmes will have an invite.
I agree with this. Pretty surprised he didn't get the nod. Possibly a bi-product of Wags and his poor strength performance?

Wasn't Wagemann invited to the combine last year? I do not believe he was drafted. He signed as free agent with Arizona.

I think Wags would've been drafted if not for his injury leading up to the draft, though I could be wrong. Can't believe Cowser got an invite & Tyrone didn't, TH is so much better & it showed in the Shrine game. Hopefully he'll use this as extra motivation & kill it on his pro day.

I believe NFL scouts and NFL teams already know who they want for this years draft. There are a few sleepers out there, but not many. Most of these games, shrine, nflpa, senor game etc.. are just hype mostly. The combine is a lot of the same I believe. College players are known by the scouts and if an NFL GM wants a player looked at after the regular season, they will send the scout to the players pro day to observe specifics. Tyrone Holmes will play in the NFL!

Just use it for motivation with whoever he lands with.
+1
Here's another bit of motivation: Did the guy Tyrone "owned" during the Shrine game -- Mississippi OT Fahn Cooper -- get an invite? He seems to be on at least one invite list, but the poster did not give a date when he/she made up the list.

Holmes absolutely confirmed all the negatives people had posted about Cooper. So if the SEC guys gets an invite anyway, it just adds to the bad things people have to say about what the Combine means ... and the draft. So what else is new?
I'm not sure where you came up with"'owned" in the all star game. I watched almost every play, minus a couple of piss breaks. Holmes alternated each series with Cowser. I felt they graded out similar with maybe an edge to the SUU kid. Holmes had 0 sacks with a couple of hurries and maybe 3 tackles including assists. The two players looked out of the same mold. Tyrone needs to get a lot "STRONGER" and work on his hip flexibility. They were edge rushers, with outside contain almost the entire game. I thought the tandem had a mediocre performance in the first half. I would be slightly surprised if he is drafted... :egriz:

As highlighted above, Mississippi OT Fahn Cooper simply did not have an answer for Tyrone Holmes. Cooper looked stuck in quicksand at times, as he struggled with the edge speed and inside quickness of the former Montana Grizzly. His overall grade of -5.5 was the lowest of the game, and his lowest grade of the season.

Well I DID watch every single play of that game rimrock, focusing ONLY on Holmes & Cowser. You obviously did not. They looked like two totally different players out there! Holmes looked fast, faced numerous double teams, had many QB hurries & more than held his own against the run. Cowser on the other hand looked slow, rarely got any kind of pressure on the QB, & was PANCACKED numerous times on running plays. Only time Cowser did anything was on back to back plays in the 4th quarter where the OT & TE let him go untouched & he tackled the RB for a loss, then on the next play the other DE pressured the QB from behind & pushed him up in the pocket to Cowser giving him credit for a 1/2 sack. Other than those two plays, Cowser was ineffective & was basically non-existent. Holmes on the other hand, made his presence felt nearly every series he was in, he had to be accounted for. They were two totally different players, I don't know what you were watching.

Hopefully he was able to take advantage of one of the regional combines. The Arizona one is I think the only one still taking registrations .

Brad Daly and Caleb Shreibeis weren't invited to the Combine either.

Look at this list and other than Biermann can you remember any in an NFL game as an impact player?

2004 Jordan Beck Cal Poly Linebacker
2005 Chris Gocong Cal Poly Defensive end
2006 Kyle Shotwell Cal Poly Linebacker
2007 Kroy Biermann Montana Defensive end
2008 Greg Peach Eastern Washington Defensive end
2009 Arthur Moats James Madison Defensive end
2010 J. C. Sherritt Eastern Washington Linebacker
2011 Matt Evans New Hampshire Linebacker
2012 Caleb Schreibeis Montana State Defensive end
2013 Brad Daly Montana State Defensive end
2014 Kyle Emanuel North Dakota State Defensive end
2015 Deon King Norfolk State Linebacker

Yeah, you might want to recant your "I thought they graded out similar with maybe an edge to the SUU kid" statement. Not anywhere near the same player. Were you watching the right players?

Plus Brad Daly shouldn't have won the award, because he PADDED his stats against HIGH SCHOOL teams, puny teams Monmouth and Colorado Mesa :!:  Jimmy Christmas, Daly rushed a little slow chubby kid from Colorado Mesa that looked like he missed the recess bell at his grade school. Daly racked up 4 sacks alone against this lower level "competition" co mesa.

O.K. "Gold" I'll leave it at this... You found someone who viewed the performances differently than myself. I viewed their performances (J.C. T.H.) as vanilla ice cream in a game where you need to be "triple chocolate swirl". The best FCS player at the position was Victor Ochi and he will be drafted. (Stony Brook - FCS) I know you'll have to google the guy and research before you comment because you're most likely "not" a football head... :egriz: apologies for my modesty.
