Here's one announcement:

The Jaguars let go of two notable pass rushers on Friday ahead of the 53-man roster deadline.

Veteran linebacker Ryan Davis and rookie defensive end Tyrone Holmes were cut, league sources tell First Coast News.

After spending four seasons as a defensive end in Jacksonville, a move to Otto linebacker wasn't enough to keep Davis from the chopping block. Davis produced 11 sacks over the last three seasons. The Jaguars will likely move on with Dan Skuta and Jordan Tripp at the Otto position.

Davis entered the league as a free agent signing of the Jaguars in 2012.

The Jaguars selected Holmes in the sixth round this year's NFL Draft. He came on late this offseason after under-the-radar minicamp and organized team activities periods.

Holmes started to show his motor as a pass rusher in the preseason and looked to be on the upswing. However, that development will likely have to continue on the practice squad.

Holmes is subject to waivers, so he may be claimed by another team looking for a pass rusher.

The Jaguars have until 4 p.m. on Saturday to get the roster down to 53. With Holmes and Davis out of the mix, the roster stands at 73.

Note that they still have twenty spots to go to get down to the limit.

Hope this works for him, although being a lifelong Steelers fan, I ' m not rooting for the Browns.
