Going thru psych's highlights (and thanks, psych):
On the early long NDSU TD, it looks like the safety made the mistake. Harris checks the wide receiver through, the safety bites up on a receiver coming towards him and allows the wide receiver to go long. Must have been two-deep zone coverage.
On Wentz TD run on the Griz sideline, it's amazing how many blockers pulled and were in front of him. Defenders could have played it better, but they were outmanned. Kose, who missed the tackle on the sideline, is coming straight across the field, which is a tough angle for a tackle like that. Should have made a better play, but he was hustling to actually get in position to make the play.
Horner's catch down the middle to the 5 or so, was truly an amazing catch. He was in heavy traffic (safety in fron of him and defender on his tail), showed no fear, made the nice catch, and obviously held onto it. Terrific throw too.
Roberts' catch for TD was obviously a great play and catch. Defender was in perfect position, ball may have been slightly under thrown (which worked to Roberts' advantage), Roberts steps inside of d-back and leaps for the great catch. Huge play and momentum builder.
Harris actually had decent D on the TD in the north end zone. He was locked on wide. Forced the receiver outside. The receiver went deeper and was able to curl around Harris later. The outside backer had stepped in to help in the middle on a short route, so the qb had a clear view to his receiver and Harris had no help. He was right there, but no cigar.
On UM's failed lateral at end of half, receiver probably should have held it as he was getting tackled (and it's tough to lateral when being tackled), but, given how the play went, it would probably have been a big play if completed. Defenders are moving the wrong way, and UM had a blocker (maybe Nguyen) right in position to block or screen the only defender in the screen in position to make the tackle.
On NDSU's nice shuttle pass for big yardage, the Bison center, 54, is about 3 or 4 yards down field, and the receiver is close to being over the line of scrimmage. Perhaps he was right on the line. Nice play.
I agree that Brady got him before throw and fumbled.
I thought Henderson was out of bounds for several steps way up field, when I saw it in real time. I initially thought the refs would overrule the catch, or at least review it. But then someone I was with mentioned the rule on being forced out. Good job by refs. I thought the refs were very good, by the way. Where were they from?
Great and clutch throw and catch on the 4th and 10 to Carlson. He twisted and went up for it too. Tough catch.
