According to "sources," Texas is about to fire (or has fired) its basketball coach, Rick Barnes. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/12571138/rick-barnes-coach-texas-longhorns
The guy has won "only" about 70% of his games at Texas (402-180). They played the 9th toughest schedule in the country this year, and still went 19-12. Yes, they got bounced in the first round of the NCAA, but at least they got in. (They lost to Butler, which went to the Sweet-16 and took Notre Dame to overtime before losing.)
But none of that was good enough, so he's gone (apparently). Here's the money part:

ESPN said:A clause in the coach's contract, which had a base pay this season of $2.55 million, calls for a $1.75 million buyout if he is fired before April 1, according to the Austin American-Statesman. The payout would have decreased to $1.5 million on Wednesday.
