Happy monday everyone. Just wanted share here in EGRIZ world some cool stories about GRIZ student athletes. I coach a couple different youth club baseball teams for 2 of my boys, and our organization (Missoula Dirt Squirrels) has 6 total teams 9u-13u. A few weeks back, I connected with Brooks Davis and invited him to come to a practice with our 13u group (two teams in that division). I love Brooks' competitive mindset, and hes got a unique background growing up playing primarily baseball at an extremelyhigh level in California, not starting football until his junior year. He jumped all over it, and showed up to practice, mingled with the kids, and shared some great insight with them, and even took part in some parts of practice. It was awesome, and a highlight for the boys.

Fast forward to this weekend, and after a great day of our first weekend of tournament baseball, several families are at paradise falls for dinner. Eli Gilman and Finn Ridgeway are leaving and a table of our boys stop them and chat them up. They invite thrm to their games Sunday, Eli pulls his phone out to get the times of the games, and says they'll come down and watch. Sure enough Eli and Fynn show up sunday to the baseball fields and watch the 13u, 9u, 10u, and 11u champion games of the Dirt Squirrels, and mingled with all of them.

All the wins and championships are important, but the character of the young men we bring into these programs, and the impact they have on the youth in this community that look up to them so much, is what its all about! Couldn't be more proud of these young men.! GO GRIZ 💪 ❤️

I have a couple nephews that are Dirt Squirrels and saw their mother post on Facebook pics with Eli. Looks like they made those boys’ day. Very cool.

Thanks for sharing this uplifting story Nick! I know we've had our differences in the past but I know you LOVE the Griz and your heart is in the right place. Here's to burying the hatchets and moving forward as One Griz Nation!

Finn's Grandfather is a member of our golf group, the Bandits, in Polson. Says that the relationship between Eli and Finn (they have been roommates for three years) is outstanding. Two super nice young men and one very proud Grampa.
That sounds like a tough crew (the bandits)!!!
