Hey Swilly! Go Heads

hey also dont forget...my PIRATES swept both Hellgate teams...im thinking it will be an all west state title game Polson vs. Anaconda for girls....

Yup I saw that, It looked like the Eagles didnt play very outside of Paul scoring 20. Anaconda is a good A team with Hurley leading them. Problem with Big Sky right now is that they dont know how to play a complete game, they will be down by 8 and come back but they just cant seem to put a full game together, and it doesnt help that they dont have alot of low post presence.

Jordan had another player fall on him during the Hellgate game and I believe hurt his arm. Nobody knows his status right now but I can tell ya he didnt make the trip to Anaconda

Ps. I have heard from people talking that BSh got screwed last night by the refs and that some of the JV players had the cops called on them for yelling at the refs, something I would come to expect from anaconda

Swilly why would you expect that from Anaconda? I was not at the game but I wouldn't be suprised if the Eagles got homered.

Featherman did make the trip, but didn't play. He ruptured some ligaments in his elbow by hyper-extending it against Hellgate, like Swilly said. The refing was terrible, climaxing with the worst call I've ever seen when, with 12 seconds left, Paul Morris drove the lane, was stripped, dove for the ball and was fighting with 3 Anaconda players, and was called for a 3 second violation for laying in the lane, fighting for a loose ball. Ananconda went up by one on the ensuing possess. Morris regained the lead with 7 seconds left on 2 free throws. Then Roche Estes drove the lane, threw the ball off his own knee while being guarded by the entire Eagle team, yelled and flailed, got a shooting foul called, and sunk both shots. HOMER DOME at its finest. As for the underclassmen who were reprimanded, they weren't even talkin to the ref, just yelling at Estes when he was shooting free-throws in an effort to distract him. It was uncalled for for them to be "disciplined" for supporting their team. Anaconda did its best though, getting Big Sky into the penalty both halfs before they committed A SINGLE FOUL miraculously. This caused Bryan Fowler and McHale Anderson to sit on the bench from the 3 minute mark of the first half until the second half.
Good, exciting game though.

What FG % did they shoot? How many free-throws they miss? How many turnovers did they have? I doubt the refs caused anyone to win/lose.

And for a ref to have to have a police escort after the game doesn't say much for the dad. Teaching his kid a good lesson there, isn't he?

I officiate in Billings. Had a coach one time ask me, "When will I get a home-town call?" I said, "I didn't know there is such a thing." The look on his face was priceless.

Not trying to start a pissing match here, just my :twocents:

EDIT: It IS a crime in the state of MT to assault a sports official.

Stupid question by a coach, but priceless is having the gall to claim that there is no such thing as a "hometown call." Man, there's no way you can even say that with a straight face! There are a lot of good officials in the state, then there's a smaller number of mediocre, but still fair officials, and finally, there's an even smaller group who are blatantly biased and have no shame whatsoever doing what they do the "kids" because that's who they're ultimately doing a number on. I've always thought it would be interesting to take any official who claims that there's not any bias with officials out their pool area and let them watch a game or two on the road to see their reaction to some of the stuff that does actually occur, if only a small part of the time.
