Jim has had a toxic relationship with the administration at Florida almost from the beginning of his tenure. Not sure we want to touch him.

Wasn't there some shark incident, or am I not remembering correctly?

That was Led Zeppelin.

Just curious, what is Bobby's winning percentage as a head coach?
BH's FCS winning percentage 0.825; 7 BSC championships in 7 years.
Stitt's FCS winning percentage 0.594; 0 BSC championships in 3 years.

Nice qualifier, especially since the question was in reference to a certain coach that just got fired at Florida and many saying they had no interest in a head coach that was only in the .600 range. (Hint, the would be Bobby too)

What level do we play at?

Guess it went completely over your head. What level did McElwain coach at? People are complaining that he would unwanted because of his winning percentage.

Bobby's overall winning percentage is irrelevant, his FCS record is what matters.

It is relevant when people believe McElwain should not be considered based on his FBS winning percentage, which is much better than Bobby's.

Absolutely, I guess I didn't read enough of the post's to grasp what you were getting at.

OK, I thought you and I were on the same page, but maybe not. I made the winning percentage comment sarcastically. I'm more concerned about the shark thing if true, but it looks like that might not be true either.

You guys all wanted Beau Baldwin pretty bad. Now you want McElwain. Just all about those EWU touches.

Unfortunately for you, you're probably going to get stuck with Paul Wulff

I thought people didn't want a .611 percentage coach . . .

.586 but I suspect you knew before asking

Where do we think the most relevant data is? Coaching at MT for 7 years, or coaching at UNLV for 5 years, or even coaching as an asst at SDSt for X years? I would have to think that coaching at MT for 7 years would be the most relevant data.

I only answered is question because he was trying to setup a remark in regard to McElwain and FBS, which I did see as I read through the thread. As for at FCS, let's wait until Stitt is in year 7 before comparing him with Bobby and Don Read at the FCS level.

Missed the original telecast so have had to hide in semi-secluded isolation (it's a Slapshot line) until I could find the game on the web today.

I don't get this dump Stitt thing? Did any of you watch the game? Did Coach cause 5 TO's? Did he mess up the offside call that would have made it first down and a chance to cut it to 10-7? (never saying one bad call turns the game, just saying that would have made things interesting) I saw an offense that Coach put in almost double the output of Weber State, in their building. Did he fail to coach the two kids that were bum-rushed for helmet to helmet? (like there were not a dozen hits that could be called "leading with the crown" including almost any running back in the A or B gap play) Did he make sure our best D-back was suspended? (damn you Stitt, you should have stopped that fight).

And for the constant; Coach Semore can't make half time adjustments, as a buddy of mine says "pound sand."

Did he do the poor performances you describe? Of course not, he's not a player. Is he accountable? Of course, he is the HC.

Don't you know, there are so many quality championship caliber D-1 coaches lining up to coach at Montana. That is why the "revolving door" approach is always best at Montana. :thumb:

For me, the head coaching job is not even about Stitt, but being realistic. Fact is, there is no guarantee that any coach will turn the GRIZ into a national title contender within less time than the track Stitt is on. Even if we do replace Stitt, and the new coach has success, he will have done it with Stitt recruits that matured, as they would have with him anyway.

I have still yet to see anyone tell me a realistic replacement option that will meet the expectations of this spoiled and ungrateful fan base are demanding. Crickets when I've asked this time and time again.

I think it actually does come back to Bob vs Bobby. Hauck's wikipedia page features him in a Griz shirt, even though he last coached for them how many years ago? Nostalgia for the past, or a not so subtle clue of where he'd like to be...?

I'm assuming he'd like to come back. But for purposes of accuracy somebody might want to upload a photo of him in an Aztec shirt.

I'll guess it's one of his fanboys from egriz that maintains the page.
