Saw tonight we open as 1.5 point underdogs
Please give us more motivation
It feels super weird that every single advantage is in the Griz' favor and yet for some reason everywhere I look it seems like people have NDSU penciled in for Frisco.
The Bison are going to have the coaching distraction. Locker room in disarray before the transfer deadline.
The Bison will be playing their 3rd consecutive road game, and their 12th consecutive week without a bye, this will be their 15th game of the year. I don't care who you are, Alabama or not, that's going to break someone. Especially against a team who hasn't traveled in 5 weeks, and gets an extra day of rest after playing on Friday. The playoffs are a game of endurance, and the question is when does NDSU'S tank run out of gas.
Washington-Grizzly Stadium is the only environment in the FCS tougher and more intense than the FargoDome, and nothing else this Bison team has seen even compares. Montana's last home playoff loss was in 2013 against Coastal Carolina.
NDSU's team might have a ton of playoff experience, but who do they think is on this staff? There is a ton of playoff experience these coaches can draw from, in a friendly environment, against a tired team with off field distractions. Even better, this Grizzly team knows what to expect from NDSU.
I know NDSU has earned the benefit of the doubt over the last decade+ and they have shown they aren't to be taken lightly in their worst season in 15 years. They are talented, big and mean. But to give this Griz team all of this bulletin board material, with all of the advantages it has going into this week, to give them a clear and focused purpose - to beat the team who ended their season last year, it shows how little people pay attention to this so-called Mecca of the sport.
It's Montana vs. The World, and I think I like those odds.
