Here's something for the school to think about

Am I the only one who won't miss the skydivers, doesn't care about Monte, doesn't care about the video screen, and just wants to watch football in a loud energetic atmosphere?

I am going to miss the skydivers. Monte can go, tired of him. Wish they would show more replays on the video screen.

If Monte came in with a sky diver that would be sweet. The pre game stuff is part of the atmosphere and a big plus for Montana recruits is the atmosphere they get at an FCS school.

No matter how you slice it though it a is a major factor for the university to have the "show". My wife could give a crap about football but she really enjoys the game day experience. Thats all part of the package. Just sayin.

The skydivers have been replaced--- with lights.
I liked the skydivers. If you travel around to other FCS venues you quickly discover what a who gives a rip, popcorn fart subdivision it really is. The fact the UM pulled out all the stops and treated it like the state's biggest sporting event is special.
You want to see football in the raw, go check out Southern Illinois, or Sam Houston or any of the blah venues in the Big Sky other than the Montana schools. The effort isn't much better than what you'd get at a Billings West or CMR game. The fans are pretty flat, too.

No way do you get rid of Monte. Only so many things a Mascot can do. The Florida St mascot does the same thing every game. Its tradition and awesome! Monte may not be the most original but he is a part of Griz football!

Does Monte still dance rock out to the timeless tunes of Kid Rock pre-game?

Those 3 things help get the atmosphere to that loud energetic level that you like so much.

Is it really official that the skydivers are done or is this another eGriz generated rumor that will make all of you look like idiots yet again?

One thing I detest on the Video is NFL highlights. Griz and/or NCAA football highlights comparable, but not the distraction that NFL videos brings. Why should I bother to watch the Griz play football when it's such a more manly thing to do to sit as a couch potato and get off on the NFL, which is generally reserved for all other days, traditionally on sundays and monday night football.

If you want to see NLF highlights go down to the local bar and/or rent a DVD, etc. Griz games should be considered NCAA football; hopefully, at least at the FCS level, one of the finest.

Hey! Those that want to get rid of Monte are idiots. It sucks we no longer have the skydivers, that was a cool tradition. In my opinion we got so commercialized with O'Day they let the experience decline in a major way. You have to wonder if any idea that was brought up the first question was: Can we get a sponsor for it? The thought of the fan and the Show that was put on to get them fired up went out the window when the sponsored the Dodge Red Zone. Please bring some creativity and the fun back into pregame.

If that were the case maybe we could put a game in during the regular season where we will actually need them. Using them if/when we make the playoffs seems like a huge waste of money. I know they use them for practice, but I would like to see more night games. 130 starts where we need it in the dusk is bs. how about a 4 game, doesn't need to be 8 just at a time where it will be useful.

There were at least three games last season that were so overcast and dim that I was pissed off that we didn't have lights.

I'm sure that will happen again and again.

yes, but will they turn them on, that is the question. I have heard a lot of people say they wouldn't like to see night games because of travel, cost to stay which I totally understand. Thankfully we have someone to stay with for free. However, from a money standpoint, I'm surprised the city isn't lobbying for later games for more profit.

I would hope they turn them on. TV crews would want them to as well, I think.

I hate to lose the skydivers, but I don't think that we need to really change scheduling up too much just because we can.
