Here is the video of the touchdown!!

Nelson's head clearly went back, and to the right. Back.... and to the right. There must have been a second fumbler!

I agree with PR - a couple other bad calls put us in the overtime situation to begin with, so I'm going to take this one all day. A heads-up hustle play by Nelson and the Griz D to jump on that opportunity. Thank you very much Mr. BSC Ref!

Besides, look at Fahque's first frame - the ISU kid is holding Nelson by the ankle puling him as if to tackle...!

Does anyone know what the replay official was reviewing, and what he was allowed to review? I would guess only whether the player had possession and was down. I doubt that review of which way the ball was guided or thrown was reviewable.

I assumed at the time they were looking at if he had possession while on the ground...seemed like that could be the case watching it live.

So awesome. I can't stop watching it. We compiled all the views we could find here: http://www.montana-mint.com/2015/11/09/every-view-of-the-crazy-montana-victory-over-idaho-state/

In my opinion, since the ruling was he did not ever have possession, the forward or backward direction of his "pass" is irrelevant. It seems similar to the fact that if a receiver tips a ball forward and then he or another receiver catches it, he hasn't been deemed to have thrown a pass.

Mint, you're awesome. Especially the radio call. Thank you!!

I hope Sundberg is staying on as the color guy. I'll always be partial to Mick and Gurns but Greg is doing great. His "GOT IT" call is awesome.

Grisly Fan is correct. While looking at the replay, it looked like he did not have possession. He was bobbling the ball a bit as he rolled back on his head/shoulders and his arms rose and the ball popped up. After hearing what he said, he must have had possession and just released the ball up in the air. If possession, then the play is dead because he was on his back. If he batted the ball, which he really didn't, he batted it forward--at least that's what I thought--and that's not allowed. I think Simis was down before his fumble, and so did Delaney, altho there wasn't a camera angle to show that, so, in this case, 2 wrongs made a right, in my view. Also, Nguyen clearly scored on his short run. The ball was over the goal line when he went down.

Are you implying the replay officials said "collectively we feel the Griz deserve to win". Lets go home?

I think that, like all officials, the replay officials had a limited amount of time to review and decide. If, like us, they had days to review, ponder, and otherwise consider all possibilities (like hearing Nelson's interview) then they may have made a different decision. I think PR's point was that even with instant replay, some decisions will still go for or against you. And I think we all hope that on the grander scale it will all even out. Maybe it did this time?
