Herder Ballot for 10/16

Where does he admit his bias toward the scats?
When he says, "I know I'm accused..." He's saying he's not bias, but deep down I his subconscious soul, he knows it. That's my take on it. That's like if I say, "I know I've been accused of watching Legally Blonde, but..."
Well, I watched it ok, but I'm trying to save face. My wife happened to be watching it.

Disagree.

If our guys win out, I can see us getting the 1 or 2 seed. Though depending on how the other teams do we still could be a 3 or possibly 4. The term shoe-in only applies to NDSU if they win out.
If we’re fortunate enough to win out, who could possibly move above us to no. 2?

All these poles are a moot point if we don’t win out to and through the brawl. And Haley or whatever her name is can continue to give bulletin board material to our team as it seems to always help. Hope he comes out and says we are the worst undefeated team in the country or whatever stuff was said in 2023. Doubt these guys, give the staff and player ammo to keep reloading each week through January.

We're a shoe-in for at least the #2 seed if we go undefeated, unless the cats somehow shit down their leg and lose like 4 straight before the Brawl, and EVEN THEN we probably still get it.
I agree with you. Having said that, Griz better wake up and start pounding teams early. Also, the Oline is suspect and I am doubtful they hold up against a top ranked team like NDSU. Cats defense was stout against Idaho State. Granted, they played at home and ISU just came off an emotional loss to the Griz. The Griz cannot afford to start slow and play catch up against quality teams. I don’t understand why the Griz start slow this year. It drives me crazy.

To be fair, it is actually a great movie....

If we are fortunate enough to win out, we are looking very good. However, as noted above our seed will depend on how other games play out. Not saying the following happens but if it did...

The seeding committee results are not the same as the polls, yet for now the polls are our proxy. Currently No. Dakota St, So. Dakota St., Tarleton St. and possibly Montana St. are above the Griz.

Tarleton winning out will be another 12-0 team. Though a 12-0 with an FBS scalp on their belt.

If both Dakota State teams beat No. Dakota, the NDSU at SDSU winner is 12-0 and remains above us. If this loser's only loss is that game, they too may remain above the Griz. Love of MVFC runs strong.

msu is below UM if the Griz win out. Beating a #4 or #5 bobcat team really strengthens the Griz's case. Though this is diminished if the cats drop a game beforehand. The cats are playing well, yet it could happen. They play UC Davis prior to Missoula, and while highly unlikely to lose they also have road games at Poly, Weber, and the surprising No. Colorado.

Thus, the Griz could be given a #3 seed solely on Tarleton and one of the Dakota States also being 12-0. The Griz going 12-0 and getting a #4 seed is unlikely. Yet it's possible if the Dakota States have an epic overtime battle and the loser is rewarded. This is why even a #4 seed is possible.

On the other hand, our Griz could be the #1 seed. We don't know how Tarleton's schedule will be valued. If the cats cooperate, beating them as a top five opponent the final week of the season helps our resume. Further if the North Dakota Sioux knock off one or both of the 'States' our victory over No. Dakota is even more beneficial. Not to mention the 12-0 club membership is reduced. In all, plenty of football yet to be played and those outcomes matter.

If our guys are 12-0, Montana is a "shoe in" for a top 4 seed. May possibly even be #1. You never know what the Selection Committee is thinking so an undefeated Montana could easily be a #3. In the meantime, I'm enjoying their success. Hope our guys continue to improve. I really like this year's team and feel confident they'll make a nice run. Go Griz!

Damn great coverage of all the scenarios.

An undefeated Big Sky conference champion is a top 2 seed no questions asked. No shot the NCAA turns down another night game semifinal at WA-Griz. Tarleton is fine but you're not taking a UAC team over a Big Sky team. NoDak has a chance to cause some real chaos coming up if they manage to beat one of the xDSU schools and then that school wins the marker. Does the 1 loss MVFC champ still get the 2 seed over Tarleton? Be interesting to see. Griz would be 1 for sure in that scenario.

The Cats are the ones in a really tough spot because of the loss to SDSU. If they were to win the brawl they're gonna need SDSU to lose to both ND and NDSU probably to jump them. I think their best case scenario is 4 at best assuming Tarleton is undefeated.
