Your favorite Eagle is here for some answers.

1) I have been looking at the UM roster and wonder what is the status of Freddy Brown III? Is he redshirting, injured, whats up?

2). How would you as knowledgeable fans defend Sayeed Pridgett?

"Defend" Pridgett? He's averaging 19/7.6/2.6 and 2 steals a game with a new batch of teammates. Troll score=D-, nitwit. Try again.

Yeah Brown is Redshirting and I wouldn't worry about defending Pridgett he's not a threat I would tell your guys that their focus should be denying Anderson looks at the 3pt line.
But if you were going to defend Pridgett for some silly reason probably don't let him catch the ball super deep and make him start his offense at the 3pt line rather than the free throw line as hes better at backing down and pivoting in the paint area, but if you force him to start his drive up high he doesn't have blow by speed and can get a little loose with the ball on long drives.

2. The only sure way to stop/slow him is to triple team him at all times. He's too athletic, fast, quick, quick and big jumper, and good shooter/dunker, to be slowed otherwise. When he's close to the bucker in good position, it takes 4 defenders.

I think you need to defend him with all 5 guys...make sure he doesn't get the ball...and hope the other 4 guys struggle with all the open layups.

Thank you for your answer CleanHOUSE. I'm sure he will get his points. My concern is Manuel and Pridgett getting hot at the same time.

I would agree with this and add that although Pridgett is best with his back to the basket, you still need to close out to him on the perimeter because although he doesnt have a lot of speed, he is strong and a decent ball handler who excels at attacking the rim.

I could be wrong, but there arent any Eastern defenders that come to mind who are quick enough to keep Pridgett in front of them and also strong enough to challenge him in the post. You'll likely have to rely on consistent help defense down low or use some form of a hybrid zone defense

I assume Kim Aiken Jr. will be defending Pridgett. Yes, he is athletic enough and 6'7". He also averages 16.4 ppg and 11.1 rebounds per game. Should be interesting.

Aiken is really good and should be in the discussion for MVP! I will say, that now that Manuel has found his stroke, defending Pridgett will be that much harder. It will open up the inside for him to drive to the basket. He’s silky smooth, and they’ve had a tendency to collapse in on him, but he’s still at over 19 points and around 7 rebounds! He’s also got great vision, and dishes the ball off when he’s double teamed! It should-as always-be a great matchup on Thursday! Go Griz!

Speaking of Defense, do you guys play defense? From some of your scores it looks like you guys have the Mike DeAntoni philosophy of take as many shots as fast as possible and don't waist time on D and score 95 every game, or have you guys just had some games where everybody is red hot?

I would say inconsistent defense, but they have a knack for making stops when needed. Mostly man-to-man, some presses and times come out front with the bigs and trap (similar to the Griz). They definitely attempt to push the ball and at times are out of position to get longer defensive rebounds.
