As I recall, the Ferris State game this year set a new stadium attendance record at the time, though looking about I saw many empty seats. It became a bit of a joke the rest of the year for my buddy (with seats next to mine) and me; almost every game for the rest of the year, we would suggest they would announce a new attendance record, which often turned out to be the case. The eventual record was set at the Griz/Rival game. I just don't know how they count attendance; it seems they count tickets sold rather than bodies in the seats. In any event, I am sure the game this weekend will have better attendance than would have a game the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

I attend every game but very rarely ever sit at my seats. If you notice there are thousands of people standing all around the stadium during the game, that also have seats unattended.

The state of Kansas has 2.9 million people and 2 P4 teams. Kentucky has less than 5 million and two P5 programs. Wyoming has half Montana's population and and FBS program. Hawaii's population is roughly equal to Montana's. They have an FBS program. New Mexico has 2.2 million and 2 FBS programs. Arkansas has 3 million and 2 FBS programs. I could go on, but you get the idea.

Population has verrrry little to do with FBS worthiness, despite the constant howl to the contrary on this board.
