If you measure Jack with a measuring tape in his bare feet and he is 6'6 i will buy you your Kokanee. Aye

BTW. Jack has grown 4" in the last 12-16 months, is he done yet? At 6-7 or 6-8 now we are talking a Pac-10 player? What do you think Mthoops?

One would tend to think so, yes. I know that he has now surpassed a few recruits on Gonzaga's recruiting list. Time will tell. He's looking more and more like a definite force for a Big Sky team in the future.

Davis 6'5 Martin 5'11 Moss 6'4 Yes there is a lot of fudging I agree. All i am saying is that I don't think Jack will grow anymore and he will be about 6'5 for the rest of his career. He is going to have to work a lot to play the two or three in college.

Obviously he will have to work hard. Any college player does, that's a no brainer. However, if you're implying that you don't think he's gonna get a D1 scholarship to play the 2 and 3 position....I will bet you 100 cases of Kokanee that he does. You already owe me a case because he is 6'6". Bring your tape measure or yard stick or whatever form of measurement you have to the next game. Oh yeah, and bring that case of beer too.

everyone is focused on hellgate basketball which is great, they are a great team and deserve a lotta focus, but what about bigsky? they have spun their season around and now have back to back wins against double a teams. if you would have told me that this was going to happen than i would have laughed and slapped you in the face and told you to wake up. laz has really turned this team around and i believe that bigsky has a legit chance against sentinel tomorrow...what about everyone else???

i wish everyone was as excited about griz ball as montana highschool hoops, i hope a few of these kids go to montana, bring some more fans in.

even though im not from montana, i do indeed like hearing the arguments.

p.s. matt martin 6' 1''

There is no way Jack is 6'6 I don't care what the guy that knows everything says. At most Martin is 6'0. Only time will tell the truth for the future of these players, who knows what could happen.

jack is 6 6' and you should really stop trying to argue that and just give him his kokanee because you lost :drinking:

I'm really looking forward to the game tuesday night between Hellgate and Butte. The civic center will be rockin, gonna be a great game.

There is also at least two D-1 College coaches that will also be in the stands!!

Well they should witness quite a show. I'm biased, but I think Todd Hildreth is the best player in the state, but he's headed for BYU.

The point matchup between "Clutch" Choquette and Cox should be a dandy!!

He's a great kid, very polite and humble, and a team player from the word go. After his 40 point game this year, he was asked by a reporter about it, and his reply was "my teammates did a great job of getting me the ball"

That was it. No chest thumping from this kid, and to him there really isn't an I in team.

He was leading the state in scoring early on, but I think he is about 4th or 5th now at around 17 ppg. At 6'4" he can handle the ball like a point guard, hit the trey, and is a deadly scorer down low. Hellgate had better have their A game because all of Butte is ready for this game!!

Hammer, no offense but I think your hometown Butte biased is going to your head. If you think that Choquette will be able to contain Charlie, let alone stop him, then your crazy. Don't get me wrong, Choquette has a heart as big as anyone around and hes the best free throw shooter around, but Cox is going to abuse him a second time just like he and the Knights did in Missoula. And Hildreth the best player in the state?? Take away that 40 point game against Anaconda and the 27 he had against Butte Central (???) , two A schools i might add, and hes averaging like 13 a game not 16. Hes a good player, and he can definently knock down the baseline J from about 17 and in, but I would rank him as a borderline All-state selection at best. You'd have to say that he wouldn't be among the top players in the state if you look at James Bulluck of Billings Skyview, Mark Desin and JJ Peterson of Billings Senior, Dustin O'Connell and Drew Miller of Capital, Garrett Fink and Jay Anderson of Helena High, Trevor Morris, Charlie Cox, and Jack McGillis of Hellgate, Andy Garland and Kellen Hasquet of Sentinel, Paul Morris of Big Sky, Bobby Howard and Shaun Tatarka of Great Falls High, Rios and Nathan Weidenaar of Bozemen. I would say that Hildreth has better numbers then half of those kids, but isn't as talents then no more then 5 of them. Assuming that All-state will have 12 or 13 people, I'd say it'd be Desin, Bulluck, McGillis, Morris, Hasquet, Howard, Weidenaar, Fink, O'Connell, Cox, Miller, and Hildreth, as of right now at least.

Jack is 6'6" in heels, but he's really a legit 6'5".

Sampson said poor shot selection cost them the game against Butte last night. Interesting, that's what I've been saying will cost them at State.

Good point Explosive- I also saw in the paper that hellgate only shot 2 free-throws, while Butte attempted 19! Might have been some questionable calls. I still think Hellgate will get the #1 seed from the west, but where has McGillis gone? the last two games he's had 12 points and 7 points- way down from his 20 a game.

Hey what do ya know another screw job in Butte. Butte has the worst refs in the state and has for a couple years now. It is ridiculous to see how intimidated all of those refs are by Thatcher. Butte always knocks off good teams at home but really don't have the same luck on the road? I wonder why. The home court advantage there makes me want to spew. As for Hildreth being a good player: Ya he is good, but I think he would be lucky to see action at a D three school. He is just a way undersized post who could never play wing so put your "Butte Dreams" to rest.

I'll eat some crow about saying that Cox and McGillis would tear apart Choquette and Hildreth. Cox and Choquette both had 11 and Hildreth out did McGillis 11-7. My best bet is that Jack was in foul trouble and didn't play much since it was in Butte. Anything news about that, monthoops?? I know your a strong McGillis follower. That said, 19 free throws for Butte and 2 for Hellgate? R U KIDDING?? Just a little anecdote. Earlier this season in Butte when Butte was playing Missoula Big Sky, Butte's official score keeper leans over to the Big Sky manager right before tip and says "Oh good, whenever we have these guys (refs), we're undefeated!!" If something doesn't seem wrong with that, I dunno what to say. I think Butte is a solid team and very well coached and are good enough to pick up some road wins too, but the home court advantage in Butte is UNBELIEVABLE. Maybe just a personal opinion.
