As a 30 year season ticket holder and a lifelong fanatical GRIZ fan I have to say Jake Schakel has a heart of a LION. That kid made his first start ever as a R-Freshman, got the holy living shit knocked out of him. He threw for over 450 yards against the #2 team in the nation, in front of the toughest and loudest fans in the FCS. He was sacked 9 times, hit many more times and rushed relentlessly. The Griz won and they barely did enough to earn the win, but I have massive respect for Jake Schakel for how he played yesterday in Wa-Griz. I’m ecstatic the GRIZ won, but in a way sad for Schakel that the easiest pass he had to make yesterday was fumbled away as time ran out. I’ll never cheer for EWU, but I’ll always have the utmost respect for a kid named Jake Schakel.

Respect where respect is due. He was a gamer. Fun to watch!

One of the greatest single performances I've seen in that stadium. After the fumble, you could see a number of our players run over and give him his props and hype him up to not be too down on himself.

I also didn't know he was rated a top 100 QB out of high school, so maybe we shouldn't have been so surprised lol
 
That dude can play! Told my wife in the 4th qtr that he was really not having a good time getting hammered almost every drop back and kept coming back. Thankfully Griz got some of that WA-Griz voodoo at the end to pull it out. Eastern is always a pain. We should handle PSU ok even in the rain. I know Barney will have some stuff for our guys. Cat game is the test for sure.
 
Very gutsy performance. That kid literally took a beating the whole game and never let up..
The game in two weeks will be a wild one.
Cow Bell college should beat UC Davis by at least three touchdowns. Davis is very beat up and will limp into Bozeman.
