If they stay with the current base defense, it looks like you've got an appropriately sized end, given that McGourin is the only other guy on the team over 250 that plays the wing. All due to everyone else trying to make it work, but they're so undersized that they often get swallowed by the tackle they're slamming into. Undersized guys will need to be dammed fast, or they're just undersized guys working to be overachievers. Some of you will recall Milt Mamula. That kid had wheels and would have been a terric D-End had he had the temperament and been able to stay healthy. Edwards may get there or he may just give up trying to out-quck someone and bulk up some more. This group were so infrequently getting pressure that they blitzed a backer or three nearly every play. Now you know why it was so tough to cover the seams in the passing game.

And if they move to something more typical, guess what? He's also more appropriately sized. Win/Win. There is absolutely no downside to having a big guy who can run, which means they might need to double from time to time. Think Gubner, out on the edge.

Give me 3 more DT’s the size of Gubner and convert to a 4-3. We have terrific DE’s for a 4-3. not so much for a 3-3-5.

Harris only played in 3 games his entire career @ UCLA, so this is a bit of a yawn for me...

If he played in more, the Griz or any FCS team wouldn’t be getting him here. You guys act like we are some high-level power five team. Sheesus.

Look at a few of the guys the cats have brought in from Washington who didn’t sniff the field and then were all conference and damn near All American at MSU. This is a great pick up. Deari Todd worked out pretty well for us and he didn’t sniff the field at his prior school either.

On top of all that, we beat out 5 other schools for him (including FBS Akron and also Rival EWU). But yea, all that is a yawn.

Todd was a marginal, but serviceable starter here. Not sure that's exactly the greatest example. :roll:

Gavin Robertson was better than Yamen Sanders and played in the same number of Pac12 games as Hayden Harris. He was better than Justin Strong, who was a starter in the Pac12. These types of guys turn out to be big contributors for us more often than not. You're just shitting on this guy for no reason.

Gavin Robertson was better than Yamen Sanders and played in the same number of Pac12 games as Hayden Harris. He was better than Justin Strong, who was a starter in the Pac12. These types of guys turn out to be big contributors for us more often than not. You're just poop on this guy for no reason.

I honestly think Sanders was playing out of position. By his senior season he had put on thirty or more pounds from the kid who showed up at AZ and was often a liability in deep coverage. Should have been a linebacker.

Even with al the controversy, Sanders was more than alright. He was third on the team in tackles in his first season and led in interceptions. Robertson was sorely missed last season. If they're lucky, they get a much needed defensive lineman.

He must be terrible. And i bet he got worse practicing everyday against those no talent PAC 12 lineman. And I bet he didn't get any stronger or faster in their weak ass strength and conditioning program.

And I'm not saying Sanders' and Strong's contributions weren't awesome. They both helped us out a lot, just like I'm sure Harris will over the next few seasons.
