Hopefully this is just the one out of every four years the griz beat EWU 😉 (2011, 2015, 2019)....

Thanks for kicking our ass and eliminating us from the playoffs. In all honesty, Good luck this year in the playoffs, hope you guys take it to NDSU

I think Best’s bests days as HC are behind him. He excelled with Baldwin’s recruits....but now? Not so much....

Maybe....but we’ve had 3 straight top 10 recruiting classes. The bigger issue is we keep losing coaches to FBS. We lost our O and D coordinator last year after Frisco. Two years prior to that we lost Baldwin to Cal and Taylor to Utah, who is now at Sac and rolling...

Ewu will be back next year...

How long was Baldwin at EWU? Seems like he was there for a fair number of years.

Beau Baldwin at EWU

'03-'06 as QB/OC
'08-'16 as HC

Not suggesting you won't be back, because I think Eastern is at a point where they'll always be a contender. But don't you have like 18 starters who are juniors or seniors? If so, that could suggest it will be a few years till you're fully back.

My view is that EWU got to be so good for those years in large part because they had so many special players. Kupp, Bourne, Adams, other qb's, some defensive players, some o-lineman. Many of those players were just better than other top players in the conference. In tough and big games, those players just made too many plays and helped win the day for EWU.

Of course, EWU had good teams, good coaches and many solid players filling in. All of those others and support players played with more confidence and intensity, because they knew Kupp, Adams et al would make a bunch of huge plays. The Griz used to be like that too.

I was surprised at how EWU seemed to lay down and quit as the game went on. Seemed to happen at various positions. Certainly receiver. EWU had no fight.

I talked to some EWU player parents after the game, at the airport. They felt that the coaches are not up to par with prior coaches, because they keep getting hired away. Didn't like the play-calling either. Were discouraged and didn't see things improving this year. I took it all with a grain of salt.

There were several passes thrown by Barrier that were dropped. If those same balls were thrown to Kupp, he would have caught them and the score would have been different! Really nice to watch him in the NFL! 220 yards receiving this past weekend.

I love to see the dude can play at the NFL level. He was outstanding last weekend. I was so gald to see him move on. Way more fun to watch him torch another team besides the Griz. Same way I felt about Randy Moss.

It's amazing how EWU has gone from the NC game to "a life of suck" in one year. It just shows how quickly this shit can turn.

I think Baldwin >>> Best. Best took Baldwin’s recruits to the chipper. Will be interesting to see the spiral downward.
