How long has it been? Was it last year when we were in the national championship? Or the three years before that where we consistently had one of the best defenses in the nation? Asking for a friend.

Maybe you read the post a little more closer before you comment.You always seem to take things out of context and twist them to your liking.We were in the Natty because we got lucky.I only said part of the defense if you can understand that part but your comprehension skills are not the best it appears.

Yes, and I asked you WHEN? I understand that quite clearly, and I never said you were talking about anything else. It seems you are lacking in comprehension. I don't twist anything, man, you just have an inability to actually respond when people make points that counter yours, you just make it personal and about the poster. I try to just ignore you, but you posted a take that seems indefensible to me. You said "It's been that way for some time and has never changed." How long has it been that way? Be specific.

And if you think that teams get to a national championship because of luck, you are just being so obstinate in your worldview that you are inventing things to confirm your preconceived bias. No teams just luck their way through entire playoffs and winning 10 straight games. Those ten games included wins over teams ranked 20, 3, 7, 4, 11, 7, and 8. There is absolutely no reality in which a football team just lucks their way through that. We had tough, veteran kids and a defensive and ST staff that was dialing up all the right adjustments and play calls. That isn't luck. That was a damn fine football team.

Elrod seems to catch on pretty quickly...what seems to be a bit of a stretch is that you think our run to the NC was luck?

Be careful if you challenge him too much, you might hurt his feelings then he will have to pop off in a blaze of glory, disappear for a week. Rack his "brains" to think of new screen name, not one of the countless he has already used, and then pop back up with; the same old schtick.

That is the fault of the coaching staff for throwing all of their eggs in one basket and it didn't work out. You can even get scrambled eggs out of this trash defense. The 3-3-5 is stupid anyway, it doesn't develop NFL Dline caliber players. Heck UM can't even claim the moniker of Linebacker U because we have none active in the NFL in fact I don't think there is a single Griz active on an NFL roster anywhere. There are a couple in the CFL. Yay... let's develop CFL talent.

A whole lot of luck and an awesome DC. At first I thought this was the Griz team of old. Nope just really lucky. The offense is tearing it up though. I know we shouldn't criticize without a solution, but honestly, mine is start over next year with a new DC and hit the portal heavily for D Linemen.

I don't think we have a team next year if the fellas don't make a fairly deep run in the playoffs.

This is definitely not a championship caliber team yet.

The offense could get us there and maybe win it, but the defense is utterly horrible and incompetent of stopping the worst offenses in the FCS.

Lol so much for my rah rah for the big boy pants Division. UM has zero business moving up.

I would guess that they are all bottom half of the FCS with the possible exception of EWU and I wouldn't guess they are very highly rated.

Edit... I am really suprised to find all of these offenses in the top of the FCS. 13th, 19th and 30th.

All of the above. Man that is so disheartening because if we have any semblance of an offense with those defenses we run away with a title there somewhere. Now we have the offense we begged for and the defense is, well…. Pretty offensive.

I believe O’Connell is active on the Seachickens roster.
