Hauck has a great history of recruiting those "star" athletes like Mariani and Reynolds. As you can tell, I don't think "star" ratings mean shit when they are 3 or lower.

Not entirely accurate. I can only speak for Marc's recruiting, but Bobby never once talked to Marc in the process. It was all Kraig Paulson. He was the only Griz coach who was in contact with Marc through the process. And Marc was not even a PWO. He was an actual true walk-on who didn't start with the team until the first day of classes his freshman year. That first year was a rough one for Marc. Where he was at, Bobby barely even knew his name. You didn't get a Griz logo on your helmet or a playbook. Which makes Marc's story all the more remarkable.

The Griz didn't know how fast Marc was, because he played tennis and didn't run track.

Yeah, haha, I heard Bobby say that. The first time I talked to Bobby after Marc started getting playing time, I made sure to tell him I was Marc's tennis coach. He gave me s--t for it.

I can assure you, Marc doesn't have a single regret about playing tennis over doing track. NOT ONE :thumb:

I actually heard it from an assistant coach. Don't know why Marc would have had any regret over playing tennis. I'll have to ask him sometime what he thought of his tennis coach. Ha.

My main point was a shot at the "star" ratings.

Definitely. Unless you are playing in a higher profile program or league, those 2 stars to no stars don't really mean a whole lot. All you have to do is look at the list of NFL players and All-Americans under Hauck and look at how many stars they had by the recruiting sites.

You should include 3 stars also.

Hauck and Green visited Graves up in Eureka today as well. On Graves Twitter.

I hope our staff takes a close look at Seth Schneider , out of helena capital. Avg 185 all purpose yards, running back + line backer ... a true athlete. Tremendous attitude.
