Hauck Quote

I watched Bob's team gather at the Griz after the Weber game for an FTC chant. Not sure he's telling the truth.

Dave's is pretty good and really consistent. The food scene in Missoula is better than in Bozeman and I don't understand why. My son and I had breakfast at the Ox before the game last Saturday and the corned beef hash and eggs were delicious and way less expensive than anything you can find here in Bozack.

but you can't get brains and eggs at the Ox any longer, and thats just wrong.

I agree. I never ordered them but it was always nice having them as an option. I miss having that choice. Hey, what was that strip joint that was attached back in the day?

Mulligan's....um, I mean ...I don't know.

That was the place for 25 cent draft back in the mid-late 80's. You could always dig up a few quarters out of the couch and go play some beer/pinball. The "rippers" were out at a place on the 93 junction north of the city. (Can't recall the name, but remember seeing a nice selection of c-section scars from some of the gals). Fondly and faintly remembered good times.

Missoula still has a bit of authenticity left to it.

I just move back to Missoula a few years ago. It has lost a lot of its authenticity, but there is still some left. I hope we can hang on to it. I feel like Bozeman lost theirs a while back.

The food scene in Bozeman is way better than it was about 10 to 15 years ago. They didn't have crap then. There are quite a few decent places to eat now.

I think Bozeman has a strong food scene, although Missoula's food scene is really changing right now, lots of new places opening up downtown with good variety. Bozeman still has us beat on sushi. Dave's is my second favorite sushi joint in Montana, my clear favorite is Wasabi in Whitefish. I agree with PR that Blackbird is one of the top restaurants in MT. Helena, IMO has two taco joints that are superior to anything in Missoula.

Was tht place better than "Rawhide Night" at the saloon. Not that I ever went there although I think it was on Tuesday night.

...so, argh, are you a good representation of real Griz and UM fans?

i'm a fan of the griz and um, but approach it in my own way, which of course makes me an outlier, especially here. people have a hard time with those who speak their minds, even if they know it won't be popular.

so, not an 'representative' griz fan, if you mean posting like the majority.

Didn’t ask if you are a fan. I asked if you are a good “representative” of the Griz/UM, which is something you commented on harshly as far as Kem goes.

Just curious, do you know him personally? Do you know his contributions to UM, if any, and how they may compare to yours? Is he a season ticket holder, GSA member, financial contributor, etc.? Are you?

And I completely agree with you. What you post on e-Griz has little/nothing to do with anything frankly. I post stuff that is unpopular all the time.

My dad went to college in Helena and talked about dollar pitchers. He and his friends only had $10 bills so...

all i know of kem is that in the past, some of his statements, which echo right-wing pundit statements, have struck me as offensive to large swaths of people, with little logic behind them. he often makes pronouncements that are opinion, but he makes them sound like they are facts he knows. but none of that is unusual. what is unusual is his incredibly entitle behavior regarding the retaining or firing of stitt. he claims to support um as a whole, and football players as griz first, but made it conditional on whether a football coach was retained for another year, or not. he makes cartman sound reasonable.

i can think of different possible definitions of what a 'representative of griz/um, and in some ways i'd probably be considered a good representative, in some ways, not so much, especially since i have no desire to play the role of a representative of um. fan and supporter, yes, representative, no.

i dunno, raider asked, and for some reason i decided to try to answer mostly seriously. didn't even know kem had a phd. a higher-up position in some chem-related company, but wasn't sure if it was a phd or masters.

degrees don't tell you much, other than indicating possible focus points.

I'm assuming you think Kem can do whatever he wants with his money or other means to support, correct?

Why is it your business? Would you feel the same if he stopped contributing because he disagreed with the University President or a UM policy?

People vote with their checkbooks or feet all the time.

Don't understand why this chaps your ass so much.

Disagree. I don't think you know him as well as you think you do. Factor in some maturity and experience that gives him a different view of the landscape.

Still intense. Still hates the cats as a team one week per year. But maybe aging out of the literal hostility. I personally approve!

it wouldn't have been anyone's business than him, had he not flaunted his position on egriz.

the reason it bugs me is complicated, but big part of the reason is because in my view, it is the epitome of entitled behavior by someone who claims superior rationality.

Kem is not entitled in any respect. argh, your reaction or statement is more about you than Kem. Kem is a very loyal and devoted fan. He played for the Griz back in the day. Neither you nor I did.

I recall what he said about Stitt. Can you find and post it? I too wouldn't have said that, is my recollection.

You have never reacted well to me either, even thought I treated you well and invited you to our box once. Then you dissed me.

I think you have a serious deficiency with people. I know about you from knowing 3 of your high school friends.

On the other hand, I have come to understand you a bit better and appreciate you, a bit. I would guess you might feel the same way about me.

You are obviously a Griz fan, even tho usually a critic. You come back for more. I occasionally notice a substantively good football post, and am surprised.

I think you and Kem could be friends on egriz or at least tolerate each other. I think Kem is a chem phd from AZ St, but might wrong. Yes, he is more conservative than you.

In any event, both you are loyal to UM and very interested in Griz football.

Jeepers. I feel like I'm in a group. This is one of the weirdest threads I've ever seen on this forum. It starts with Champ being a creeper to places to eat in Bozack and Missoula to questioning Griz fandom. Football is supposed to be a distraction from the realities of daily life. I'm going to go to the game, Sneak into Dick Anderson's private tailgate, get soused and cheer on the team I've been a lifelong fan for!!!

GO GRIZ! FTC

The Griz Bus is not pulling into Dave’s Fucking Sushi, Bill and Ted’s Donuts and Buffalo Farts, or Choate’s Tusk at Widow’s Peak, and that has nothing to do with the rivalry.
