Buck Fobby. how long has it been since the Griz lost this bad to the Cats? 40 years?
Grow up man. Bobby Hauck has forgotten more about football than you will ever know.

Apparently how to beat the cats falls into the forgotten column

never

Last years loss and not making the playoffs means more to whole lot of fans than a one game beat down. Depends on what matters to you as a Griz Fan.

Ending the current losing streak to the cats would do a lot to energize the program, help solve attendance problems, etc. a lot of casual fans only really pay attention to either team during the Brawl...while playoffs are important, winning that singular game is what matters to a surprising number of Montanans.

Hauck is a good coach, but for the second year in a row the UM staff has been out coached by the Cats’ program. Not to mention, I highly doubt there would be this much support for Stitt if he had lost to the cats by a 30+ point margin.

Of course Stitt would have lost 2-3 more games prior and ended up with 6-7 wins.

Stitt is gone, let it go! Shitty loss but not the end of the world! This is the best Griz team we’ve had for quite a while and I only see us getting better moving forward.

I don't like to pile on, but Stitt also had the benefit of playing two relatively weaker MSU teams in 2016 and 2017.

Last year the Griz were as close to winning as you can get without doing it. Add another year of weights, age, transfers, coaching, knowing the system and the Griz were far worse against the Cats this year. Both teams had a year to improve and Choates program showed who did a better job in the areas needing improvement the last 364 days. Yes the griz are somewhat young entire roster wise, but they also lose some very key players as well ...10 of 22 starters were seniors (similar to MSU who many claim are senior laden.....only 1 of the offensive line that dominated the game is a senior for example).

Maybe Bobby is just biding his time. No point in talking tough or acting like your team is the S*** when they arent. If you now think Bobby doesnt have the drive to get us there because of his comments on the rivalry this year, I think you are mistaken. He has been doing this for a long time and has always been pretty strategic and thoughtful. Trust him until he proves you shouldnt. That time is not yet here. Especially with a 9-3 team and a seed and bye in the playoffs.

This will probably get blocked by Griz moderators - but.....showed another level of lack of class by an individual who can’t give the Cats any credit.

Hauck got out coached again today, he gave no credit to the Cats, coach Choate, and the fan base in the stadium. His insinuation that all we care about is this game is ridiculous- yes we want to beat our rival, but the Cat program has bigger goals - just like UM - and we showed that today.

Hauck was condescending all week - and continued that in today’s embarrassing loss. Classless individual - doesn’t portray a good image for Griz Nation

Either you didn't watch the presser of have no comprehension of the English language, Hauck pretty much called it like it was and gave credit where it was due.

Or maybe you're just a douchebag who felt like stirring up imaginary trouble...yeah that's probably it.

Now that was harsh. You know we’ve been missing a state ag poster like dogshit3 since he got reprimanded for posting from work. This douchebag fills the bill nicely.

Pretty sure Hauck wasn't outcoached last year. Eastwood fumbled. Not Hauck. Griz absolutely outcoached MSU last year.

So it was Bobby’s fault a 20 year old kid fumbled the ball on the 1 yard line going in for the win last year?

Yeah but we were far better than the cats for 95% of the season. We don’t play just for cat griz. They do. We had a great season playing the second toughest record in the country. Beat two conference champions and are seeded in the playoffs. 3 weeks ago the cats playoff chances were in doubt. They needed two games against bottom dwellers to end the season and get back on track.

Bobby’s season was very successful. All of this while being only a few seasons removed from sanctions. I’m happy with where we’re at and headed. This team is young.

I actually felt that the Cats and the Grizzlies were pretty even all year long. Both beat a top team out of a second tier conference (Monmouth and SEMO, respectively), both got their lunch handed to them by a Sac State team playing at their peak, and both lost a game against a playoff team on the road. I think both teams will at least make the semi-finals, unless they suffer key injuries or just don't show up for a game.

With respect to playing for one game a year vs. the playoffs, I unfortunately think many of my fellow Bobcat fans overemphasize the Brawl. If you lived through the streak as a Cats fan like I did, there still exists a weird mixture of disbelief and relief every time the Cats don't lose or even don't look bad losing to UM. What happened on Saturday hopefully finally exorcises the last of the demons of the streak. It is better for both fan bases if this is "just" an important, conference, in-state rivalry rather than what it has been/become.

With respect to the press conference, it sounds like some of the Cat fandom was put off by Hauck indicating that their game planning for Troy Anderson was for naught. They believed it was meant to somehow diminish from the way the Cats dominated from start to finish. In the interest of full disclosure, I didn't watch the presser, but I think I have a less emotional response than most. Cat fans hate Bobby for his first tenure with the Grizzlies. He hated the Cats and had great success against them. His quote about wishing for a fifth quarter to beat MSU some more was cold-hearted and biting (I have no problem with it personally. If you want to shut someone up, you beat them). Put this together and the situation is ripe for conformation bias. If you think Bobby Hauck is an arrogant jerk without the capacity to be humble, you will see that in the press conference. If not, you probably appreciate that he accepted responsibility in the way that best benefits his team and is now charged with leading the team into the playoffs.

I don't think that will ever happen with the majority of Cat fans. Exhibit A:

You either didn't watch the presser or your bias has blinded you. None of that negative stuff showed in the video. Hauck was very good in it. He was not classless in the least. Did you not see the Cat and Cat fans celebration after there game, both this year and last year.

Not at all. But it’s a coaching problem to allow 29 second-half points while only scoring 3.

Don't forget that he ran the same play after the timeout, MSU showed base D, called a timeout and changed their Defensive call, Bobby ran out the same play with a slight formation change.

Point of parliamentary procedure: We only allowed 22 second-half points. They scored their first TD right before halftime last year.
