Hauck or Pflugrad?

Pflugrad scares me.....I don't know why....He just does. It is a gut instinct.


Hauck seems to be solid. UW is a much more major program, and Hauck has been the special teams coach and DB's coach, plus he is noted for his strong recuiting skills.


I know Pflu is a good recruiter, but so is Hauck. Plus the coaches that Hauck would bring I think give me a better feeling.

I'm not trying to bash Pflu....I just have a funny feeling about him being the head guy at UM......If he is hired, I hope he proves me wrong.

I voted for Pflugrad in the poll. Sorry I am not going to say who I voted for in the last Presidential election.

Pflugrad does not scare me at all. Head coach has a lot of administrative duties. As assistant head Coach he has already handled that part. The rest would be whether to go for it on fourth and 1 or faking a punt on your own 13 yard line and it is fourth and 12 yards to go (you all know Joe's decision here). Their is a lot you do not know because you do not know the assistant coaches he has lined up. Those assistants are the ones you have to worry about. Joe would not have had the success he had here without Breske as defensive coordinator. But we could have had some whopper scoring margins if Bob Cole was still our Offensive Coordinator instead of Billy Cockhill who replaced Ron Richards, who became a bad decision on Joe's part.

But I do know Defense wins championships. I have been kind of inclined to change my vote to Hauck. If he gets a defensive coordinator that follows his defensive philosophy whatever that is, and gets an excellent offensive coordinator that knows the passing game like EWU's OC (curious as to whether this is the guy Hauck has as his OC), We should be just fine.


So I am not worried whether we get Pflugrad or hauck. It is Cole I worry about. He is great as Offensive Coordinator, but as head coach I have a big worry. Plus, being a non-smoker, this guy is a chain smoker. Want this guy to be your PR person?

I agree that Hauck should be our guy. I talked to a former griz player who played when Plufgrad was an assistant here, he wasn't too fond of him. Didn't say anything too negative, but not anything too great either.

Yes, Pflu can coach at any MT school if hired. I have read the settlement agreement, and I call him last week to verify that no such provision was in his settlement agreement or agreed to by him. I talked to him again today. He's irked by whomever is spreading that false info.
