Hauck being mentioned for UNLV job that is to open

Roper missed most of the Portland State game, all of the NAU game, and then like everyone else had last weekend off. So this weekend was the first time he had played in just a little less than 3 weeks. At this point I am more comfortable with Selle in the game, but I have seen nothing to suggest Roper doesn't belong here.

We can only hope he gets offered the job and takes it. He has so much potential on that team and still continues to look for drop downs - is anyone else less than impressed with his choice of Roper?

And this is called a drive by...

I am so not impresses with Roeper or our other QB for that matter. Don't get me wrong, Selle is definitely the better of the two, but neither one has been real spectacular. They aren't going to get us very far in the playoffs if this is how our QB's perform. Didn't Jeff Larson have a better spring than Andrew, and where is he????? Maybe they should let him have a chance. I wouldn't be terribly upset if Hauck left. It doesn't look good when he is looking for a new job every year. That just shows his players and the community how much he wants to be here :(

That is why he is having so much trouble recruiting all of these athletes..........or not...I would give you more respect if you showed intelligence...

griz8791... I added NOTHING to that list ... you read it as I copied it ...

No suggestion that Bobby has APPLIED or expressed interest in Vega.

And Roper? Roper comes back from the concussion and finds Mariani for what's an 84-yard scoring play, and according to Hauck's play tonight, Roper picked up on what was happening w/a six-man jail-break rush and hits his guy. We also happen to have some good blocks being carried out per the plan, and it's six points. So we're back in contention.

What more do you want? The bad pick was when he though somebody was going post and the receiver went.... flag? The other interception was an exceptional athletic play by #2.

When I saw the INT w/no griz w/in 15 yards or so, I wondered if his concussion had been conked again. He has a funny looking throw, but Jim Furyk has a funny looking golf swing.

BTW, New Mexico's coach has been suspended for slugging the WR coach, back in Sept. Maybe he can join Tom Cable's staff.

And... two U of Louisville hoopsters arrested in S Indiana for obstructing cops, or something. Petino will handle that internally. FWIW.

WOW, I do not believe people bitching about our qb play this year. Selle/Roper collectively have a 14 td to 3 int ratio. Their combined rating coming into the Poly game was in the top 10 nationally. To be honest these numbers could be easily better,if not for a higher percentage of drops than normal. Even Mariani and Palmer have dropped passes they normally would not drop. Gratton and Sambrano in particular are young and have to become consistent in catching, timing, decision making, and route running.

For those bitching about our qb play this year, it really makes me wonder what your expectations are? Honestly, are they not performing up to expectations if they are not the #1 rated qb in the nation, and/or putting up Dave Dickenson numbers? Are we so used to bitching about qb play it just comes natural now? This year and last year, qb play was/is rather impressive. 2005 through 2007 we at least had some credibility in bitching about qb play. The JW/CB year (2005) was a nightmare qb situation due to injury and inexperience. 2006 with Swogger and CB was inexperience and familiarity that resulted in solid, but not great qb play (Swogger with one more year would have been great, like Ochs). 2007 was a CB's 1st full year as starter, and we played things very close to the vest. 2008 Cole Bergquist was one of the biggest factors in having such a great year. Now in 2009 we have qb tandem in the top 10 nationally and with an excellent 14 to 3 td/int ration, and you are bitching!

Honestly to God, I feel Hauck has done a great job getting the W's he has with the cards we were dealt in various injuries, distractions, expectations, and inexperience. Rather it be at Montana or a bigger school these are things that all schools have to deal with, and Hauck has proven to me he deserves any opportunity to come his way. For this year though, quit bitching about our QB play, you are out of your minds to bitch about the results. The only legit complaint we have with our qb play this year is not deciding on one to date. FWIW, I am over complaining about it, because the team has adjusted to it just fine.

Hauck gave me the feeling he would be using the two QB's throughout the season on the Sunday night Bobby Hauck Show. He thinks they are both doing a good job.

That's what I figured. I ask because the list, though posted by an anonymous and presumably unofficial commenter, isn't the way you want to structure hiring decisions. It's worth about two extra hours of deposition questions in the hands of a good Title VII lawyer.

This one here especially. Anyone remember "The Comeback" led by Selle and Roper against SDSU. My god we were all spoiled rotten.
