Wow. I know that ethics are all but a memory in this country, but it's just not acceptable for a guy to talk about taking a job that isn't currently open.

Is there a law against that?

He sounds like a guy I want coaching the Griz.

Only Dave Dickenson would be a better choice! Hauck has more than proved himself! Yes he left for big, big, big, big bucks and then admitted it was a mistake... He is a born and raised Montana man who bleeds maroon and silver!!!~ Hauck, is, not only, feared throughout the BSC...But feared throughout the whole FCS, as well! Given the talent that this years team has, (less a stud running back) Bobby would win the trifecta,= win the conference, (outright), beat the Kittykats and play for the national championship...the only dark spot on his star studded resume...(not winning the three national championship games he played in!!!) The Kittykats never did beat him and he ruled the BSC as well as the FCS!!! My prayers would be answered for sure! Coach Stitt just hasn't figured out where Montana's bar is at!!! Only Don Reid's 85 wins is better than Hauck's 84 wins at Montana... "NUFF SAID"!
This is contract year and worth much, much consideration! Kind of a no brainer!
"Go Grizzlies" NC or no new contract!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bring Hauck in as the special teams coach. Have a sit down with the 2 and make it very clear to Stitt that at a minimum an 8 win season and a blowout win against the kittens with at least a playoff win gets you a 1 year deal. Anything less and Bobby ball is back in Grizzoula.

Watched the clip several times. Bobby is just talking about the desire and energy to be a head coach again. He is not talking about a specific job or place to coach in this clip. I'm sure he would come back to Montana if the job were to open and it were offered to him but this was just talking about the desire being back to head coach again.

No tension there.

He didn't say it in so many words, but it was pretty clear what he was talking about.

This.

Sure, he was careful wording it, but where else would he go at this point? Maybe another FCS school, but I think he knows Stitt is in a put up or shut up season. It's pretty clear he's referring to coaching here, to me.

Having Bobby back would be amazing.

So my question is this. Would Bobby have been hired over Stitt had Engstrom not been president when he interviewed back in 2015? It sounded like Engstrom was the one who said no to Bobby.

Probably not.

Lol. This Hauck-jock sniffing is amusing. Not happening now, next season, or ever. The BoR & UM admin wouldn't touch Hauck with a 10ft pole. No matter how much Bobby is going to keep publicly campaigning for this job, he isn't going to get it.

And do you honestly want a coach that's openly campaigning for a job (thinly-veiled or otherwise) before it's even open? Seems desperate.

Move on people, seriously. Bobby has about has about as much of a chance of becoming our next HC as Kessman does of becoming our next star RB.

...maybe the Hauck/Washington's are putting pressure on Haslem to let him know Stitt is out if he can't produce...they have a lot of money invested in the university..yes money talks!

At a time when UM is essentially begging people to buy into the school, this was refreshing to hear. I have no problem with it.

No.

Got game....Are you referring to the same BOR that allowed Engstrom to destroy UM before firing him, then hired him back as a professor? I wouldn't bet the farm on them taking a position against Bobby.

He would probably have as hard of time getting past the "Thug Nation" mantra that lingers with our own people as he would getting past the BOR.

I really don't know if this would be possible or even a good thing really, but it has to bring a smirk to every Griz fan who remembers his dealings with the Cats. That was Bobby at his best.

Plus 1 E.G.!!! Great post!!!

Ahhh, the good old days. When the press was filled with Griz players in trouble with the law. When the program was a running joke for its third grade tantrum with teenagers from the college newspaper. Can't wait to recreate an egotistical self-centered culture where student athletes feel they are better than anyone else, deserve special treatment and are above the law.

As E.G. pointed out, he consistently makes immature, ill-advised and SELFISH decisions and doesn't have the capacity to be a good leader or someone that you want shaping young people. Fuck Bobby and his ridiculous cult of personality.
