Hauck and the Portal

He knows a ton about football. I don't think people could question that aspect, but kids today have passed him by. He is stuck in the early 2000s. It's baffling how out of touch he is with social media and promoting players.
He is not stuck in early 2000s. You don’t know him. You have no clue.

Why? The player made the decision to leave and I would move on to find a kid that wants to be a part of the team to replace him. The player made the choice.
Same way I treat an employee who announces their departure. They’ve decided my company is not for them. I’m not going to try and “buy” their happiness for another month or year. They’ve decided it’s time to go…I agree with them.

How would you handle a situation where it was your best employee and after a couple of months he realized he made a horrible decision and wanted to come back. Would you tell him no?

Mr. Dill, I am a now former player after 5 years with the team. I told you in person your opinions should stay in the bars. You call people idiots and morons repeatedly. Your opinions are wrong, worthless, and out right lies. From what I have said here you know who I am and us as players we do not think much of you. I just had to get this said in my one and only post.
I agree with frmg 100%. Mr. Dill, your complaining does nothing to support the Griz. Sending $2,000.00 to the Griz NIL fund would be much more helpful.

I make a habit of surrounding myself with people smarter than myself (yes, it’s a low bar, I know)…also make it a habit of never having “single points of failure”…I’ve had employees do exactly what you’re describing…thus far (I’m 62) and I’ve never rehired one. Now, I’VE moved on, and hired several people a number of times…a handful of people 3-4 times.

So true might not be the greatest coach ever but he did just have us in the natty and there is a good chance we get another coach and they are terrible. Imagine how these babies would react if the Griz went 4-9 or something
What kind of pathetic, loser logic is this?

"He's not the greatest coach, but another might be worse, so why even bother trying to upgrade?"

I’m not sure I understand your point. You say you never rehired an employee who quit but in the next sentence you say “I’ve hired several people a number of times…a handful of people 3-4 times” please explain.
If you had quarterback, who was the next coming of Dave Dickinson, who went into the portal but decided he wanted to come back, and your job was on the line would you let him come back?

Not answering for AZ, but my perception is that I think there are important variables than need answers before a decision could be made. Nothing like whether he could help the team by being the best option or anything, more like whether he and his family have strong Montana ties. One thing I’ve learned is that nobody from any other state knows how to work hard and give it his all.

Every situation should be situational and fluid. I’m not a huge fan of drawing a hard line in the sand. For example…..mthoops is $$$. Just because they are a $$$ doesn’t mean I can’t eventually find something they say to be insightful….although I’m still waiting for this day. Flexibility is the key

To quote your response, “nobody from any other state knows how to work hard and give it his all”. If I understand your response we, Montana has the exclusive ability to work hard while other states do not? You must live in a vacuum?

I have rehired people that I identified as high performers after I had moved on to a different job. At each place I’ve worked for the last 30 years (5 total) I’ve identified those that if, given the opportunity, I would hire away. And I’ve done that a number of times.

And regarding your second sentence: I’ve never been in that position, so I can say I’ve NEVER done it, but I can’t guarantee I’d NEVER do it.

Sarcasm to highlight an apparent double standard. Sorry it wasn’t very obvious.

Well said.
And while you should decide how often you wish to post, a fair admonition like this or an educated observation is most welcome by many on this board.

Thanks for being a part of egriz.p

You missed the the joke.

Closest I've come is rehiring someone who was on a different project that I knew about but never managed. If it's like the last few people I've had leave, I'd rehire them. Strong performers, left on good terms, and often times it for a step up when there weren't any opportunities on the horizon.

My teams know I've got their back when it comes to career advancement and wouldn't hold it against them for leaving for that reason.
