Really looking forward to his post game presser this year. Guarantee his number one excuse will be injuries, and Griz nation will jus eat it up like they are the only team dealing with injuries. Nothing is better then watching this get his ass kicked! Never gets old! Cats own WA Griz, 4 of the last 5 in the so called meca of FCS. Great day to be a Bobcat!
Leftcoastfan eating crow is an image I can no longer unsee. When we win, watch him disappear after the excuses of the players that weren't 100%. Or they saved the players for the more important playoffs, etc......

In todays context

Zero.

That’s the number of championships Choate brought to Montana State. And for all of the accolades and praise Choate receives about his coaching — while deserved — the fact remains that he jumped ship on this program before he ever took it to its highest peak.

And that will be the legacy of Jeff Choate.

The same could be said of coach Bobby at Montana.

Well, he did jump ship, but jumped back on. Remains to be seen if he takes it to its highest peak. :coffee:

Nothing like trips down memory lane

I know I am going to catch a lot of flack for what I'm about to say:

I'm a Griz alum and huge fan of Griz athletics; however, I, too, am somewhat disgusted with Bobby's childish demeanor toward the Press. Much to the chagrin of the University's president and athletic director, our football coach is the face of the University and Griz Nation. Consequently, his behavior directly reflects the University as a whole. His surly and condescending persona during press conferences is not the image the University needs right now! UM is struggling to right its financial ship, and I, for one, see all our coaches playing a key role in helping market the University in a positive light. Win, lose, or draw, Coach Hauck needs to role model professionalism to the Nth degree because his position is much more impactful to/for the University than ever before!

Interesting. Has he said or done anything in particular toward the media that has irked you since he’s been back. Specific examples appreciated.

I want umwsu to role model to the Nth degree.

Good for Vigen, he's good at the microphone and on TV. Hauck is paid to win games, not get cozy with the media. He has an "us against the world" mentality that he brings to the team. You know who else keeps press conferences short, the media at arms length, you know who doesn't give a flying fvck what anyone has to say outside of the locker room? Belichick, Saban. Ever heard of them?
So you don't think both Saban and Belichick both have earned 1000X's the equity that coach bobby has earned to be able act act that way?

You are seriously not trying to compare Saban arguably the best collge football coach of all time and Belichick the same could be said about him in the nfl to hauck?

I notice no one you’ve asked has been able to provide any examples so far.

They definitely have 1000x more equity, that isn't the point. Their attitude toward media and style in press conference is the point.

Has MSU ever had a head football coach who's both an alum of MSU and Montana native? If MSU ever hires one, that coach and his interactions with the media and relative to UM might be slightly different. Do any MSU fans understand this?

For one he is unable to say “Montana State” which is pretty comical. Never heard of Bellichek or Saban unable to say the opponents name.

My point is that both Belichick and Saban have reached the Pinnacle of their profession and have earned the right to be be somewhat arrogant and standoffish With the media...

The word you're looking for is unwilling. Ohio State fans won't use the letter M during rivalry week.

Along with CDA I would also like concrete evidence that he hasn't changed at all in that regard since his first stint.
