Looks like you are not aware that virtually all finals for undergrads had ended before yesterday, and certainly before yesterday afternoon when the rumors were flying. Don't think any player was worrying about finals yesterday afternoon. The downtown bars were hoping earlier in the week and often full of football players and hotties, by the way. Didn't look like any of them were worried about finals.

Who was checking out the players more, you or the the "hotties"?

Actually, I was talking to the hotties. Ha.

I hereby put in my support for Oline Coach's post. It's his view. It may or may not be accurate. I suspect Oline Coach has some connections to people who may feel betrayed. Even if they don't feel betrayed, they may not be very happy for the various things. Do you any of you who are posting actually know what players, coaches, former players are thinking?

I'm pretty sure I know finals are., and even more certain grades aren't out. Just as I am certain a flying rumor of a few hours duration hasn't destroyed the moral or fiber of the team. How much you trying to hang with the college crowd may creep them, I don"t know. There is a very fine line between a cute old man reliving his past and a creep perve, who doesn't know the past is long past.

I believe that the athletic director is working to make the best choice for the University of Montana. As with anything, doing something well and skillfully takes time. I want to know the next new coach, too, but I have to wait. If you knew Kent Haslem you would not say what you suggested in your posting. The man is sincere and caring. He is a great person. There is no betrayal. There is no underhanded manipulations. This is a process.

The university owes nothing to the coaches, players, fans of Griz football as to what is happening, who is being interviewed, who may be offered a job, or anything related to the job search. Releasing that type of information could be damaging to the university, to anyone involved in the process, and may even be illegal.

So sit back, enjoy the process, relax, and hope for the best!

I don't ever try to hang with the college crowd and never have as an adult. I am friends with some bartenders and owners of downtown bars, so sometimes hear things from them. I also walked into the Mo Club several nights ago about 9:30 to wait for my ride, after leaving my key ring in my office as I left work and not being able to get into my car. There was party developing at the MC, and I knew a number of the people including some of the girls, as their finals were over. My daughter also goes out and about when she's in town, and we have a few drinks occasionally. At this point, I couldn't stay up late enough to hand with the college crowd, even if I wanted to. I assume you could relate to that.

I liked how you used to tell me about Bellevue football when my relatives were playing there. The latest one was a captain this year, by the way.

I believe I know who the latest one was this season. I read where he was considered one of his schools best ever. I saw this years state championship game, he is good. Best of luck to him in college.
