Happy St. Pats! (and a message from GSA)

Happy St Patrick’s day, fellow Griz faithful! Hopefully everyone has a chance to imbibe and celebrate, with moderate safety, however they choose to keep the holiday alive.

I got an email from GSA as I assume many others did informing members that the team and new coach Bobby Kennedy will be at the Sliante Pub in Uptown Butte next week. As a new Butte resident in the last six years I hope to attend. I can’t say I have ever gotten much outreach like this from GSA before, but my compliments for putting it together. This is the kind of outreach the University needs to be doing to engage alumni and donors to strengthen the program, especially with all of the turnover in leadership.

Happy St Pattys day! Celebrating by going to watch Bad Omens in Nashvegas!

This is great to hear!

I went to the GSA event in Butte last night. Coach BK is awesome. Super cool dude and you can tell he's really excited and wants to do everything he can to keep this job long term. I didn't get to talk to him for too long as he was getting hounded by people the whole time. Was hoping to get a Spring ball update but that didn't happen.

I did have a long, in depth chat with both Haslam and Coleson Randall last night. Coleson told me the response to the hiring of BK from fans and supporters has been palpable! They've already added over 70 new QB Club members this offseason on top of all the renewals they already have. I told both Coleson and Haslam that we need to find a way to add more young members to QB Club. I told them a story about two seasons ago when I was 25 and I drove over to Missoula to attend one of the in person meetings and I was the youngest person in the room by about 20 years lol. I gave them some recommendations like a reduced price for people age 35 and under that comes with slightly reduced benefits and they seemed intrigued by the idea. Said it would be a good idea to build up the pipeline with more younger members and that they would look into it.

Overall it was a good event! People seemed excited and it was decently attended for a Tuesday night. I'm glad I stopped by for a little bit last night!
