I say-and I’m only saying this, because I know people on the inside-that they held on to this news about Goober and Calhoun for a week, because they needed them for the Weber game. It actually happened last week. That’s what my sources say. Of course, I can’t name my sources, as I promised I would not reveal them. But they are reliable...I met them at the Onion in Spokane...but no names, and you didn’t hear it from me.

If we’re basing it off of recent history then I’d say yes. It’ll be interesting to see where Eastern comes in in the top 25 poll today. If SUU, Weber, NAU and the GRIZ all go 8-3 then I think they won’t. That SUU-NAU game is going to be crucial. I think NAU loses that and doesnt make it.

In that scenario, no I don't think Eastern would get in. The big sky hasn't made much noise in the playoffs the last several years and is ranked third as a conference this year below Missouri Valley and CAA. I think we will be fortunate to get 4 teams in but definitely will not get 5 in. The only time five teams have ever made it in was from the Missouri Valley when they took a six and five Western Illinois.

Thanks Shower. Nice of you to stop by eGriz and remind everyone that MONTANA was scheduled to play McNeese until they pulled out of the deal after Liberty moved up. Nonetheless, you guys rep'ed so well against top fcs competition like undsur that it really won't matter.

Probably not...

Eastern will have some things in its favor such as SOS, a good recent history of playoff wins, and probably a top 20 ranking....but only one quality win (UM) and fifth team in a big sky Conference that seems down a little bit this year will make it tough.

Eastern will need some upsets in that scenario in some other conferences or the cats beating UM or SUU beating NAU, assuming eastern wins out

CHENEY, Wash - Two Eastern Washington University football players were arrested Saturday night, accused of trying to interfere with someone else's arrest.

Cheney Police say starting quarterback Gage Gubrud and starting linebacker Kurt Calhoun were trying to stop police from arresting a friend on a malicious mischief charge. Police said that man was seen kicking over a railing at the Mason Jar.

Police say Gubrud and Calhoun were trying to stop police from arresting their friend. Officers say they were told several times to leave the area and not interfere, but they refused.
